Throughout its long development, the classification and nomenclature of Wizards have undergone several changes.
With the 'Dimension Faction' philosophical school becoming a prominent discipline in the modern Wizarding World, the Great Wizard Conference in 1945 legally established the modern Wizard classification and nomenclature, and promoted its use within the Alliance.
Any Wizard who passes the Alliance's secondary education can obtain official 'Wizard' certification.
This certification is filed with the Wizard Alliance and can be looked up, but there is no certificate.
As the fundamental force of the Alliance, the number of 'Wizards' is the largest within the Alliance. Perhaps they can only cast a dazzling flash Spell or concoct some potions for flirting, but undeniably, these ordinary Wizards support the normal operation of the entire Wizarding World.
Of course, because the classification is relatively broad, Wizards are also a mixed bag. In Alliance law, a Trickster who can only perform a few simple magic tricks is called a Wizard; a Wizard who can use an explosive fireball to destroy a building is also called a 'Wizard'.
Without passing the relevant tests, a Wizard can only live with the same status as a Trickster forever.
This is also one of the reasons why Tricksters are deeply hated in the Wizarding World.
No one wants to be equal to a fool—even if, from a legal perspective, there is no difference between a fool and an ordinary person.
When a Wizard graduates from University and passes the relevant exams, he becomes a CPW, which is a Certified Practicing Wizard. Sometimes they are also referred to by Wizards simply as 'Certified Wizard' or 'True Wizard'.
Compared to the various fragile and immature abilities of Wizards, the Alliance has clear and precise requirements for the level of a Registered Wizard.
A CPW generally needs to be familiar with over three hundred Magic Writings, proficiently prepare one hundred and forty-three common potions, master general Divination methods, be skilled in the three hundred and sixty-five Spells and eighty-one Talismans required for a Registered Wizard, and be able to outline seventy-two standard Formations within the permitted time.
Most importantly, they must be able to fully master the power within their Bloodline, rather than passively accepting and using powers that do not belong to them, like ordinary Wizards.
In modern Wizard theory, the abilities of every intelligent creature are immeasurably vast and difficult to calculate.
The difference between a Wizard and a Baiding lies in the degree of development and mastery of these abilities.
Most Baiding, throughout their lives, only develop very little physical potential and use few brain cells to complete those mundane and repetitive tasks. Their bodies are stiff, their minds are Chaos, and many times they do not understand the difference between Life and death.
However, a certified Wizard has achieved a certain degree of mastery over his Physical Body. Their Physical Body is strong and full of Life Qi, their brain is flexible, and their mind is sharp.
The Wizard Alliance has developed a series of standard tests through long-term practice to assess the level of Wizards.
For example, preparing a certain potion, Divination certain details, or chanting a Spell, and so on. When a Wizard can complete a certain test, the Wizard Alliance will default that the Wizard's control over his Physical Body has met the standard.
This set of standards was initially developed by First University and promoted in the promotion exams, and has been used ever since. According to the judgment of senior evaluators in the Wizard Alliance, every First University student who normally advances to their fourth year possesses the level of a Registered Wizard.
Registered Wizards are the backbone of the Wizarding World.
Among the more than a million people in the Wizarding World, the number of Registered Wizards has always remained around ten thousand.
It's almost a one-in-a-hundred ratio.
Even excluding demon attacks and experimental accidents, there isn't much room for this ratio to improve.
In the eyes of Wizards, being a Registered Wizard means higher social status, more generous salaries, and a longer lifespan. Many Advanced positions in the Wizarding World are only open to Registered Wizards, such as Advanced Investigation Commissioner of Trident Sword, Assistant Teacher or Lecturer at First University.
Only by obtaining these Advanced positions can Registered Wizards have the resources to strive for the Great Wizard Rank.
Although the potential of the human body is immeasurably vast, it always has a limit.
When a Registered Wizard fully masters his Physical Body and Soul, he touches the threshold of a Great Wizard.
This is the Peak moment for a Registered Wizard. During this period, they can prepare almost any potion developed by Wizards, most complex Formations can be completed with a flick of the wrist, and long, complex, and tongue-twisting Spells can be chanted without practice.
At this point, with their current physical condition, Registered Wizards can no longer advance further.
So they need to find an Opportunity to Breakthrough themselves.
Perhaps a new Spell, a new prescription, or a theoretical Breakthrough;
Perhaps a journey through the river of time;
Perhaps an Epiphany between life and death.
When Registered Wizards break through this restriction, they will touch a whole new world.
Great Wizard.
The senior professors, deans, and even the Vice-Principal of First University, the Upper Council Members of the Moonlight Council, the senior Commissioners of the Wizard Council, and so on. These dazzling titles are the best footnotes for a Great Wizard.
For ordinary Wizards, Great Wizards seem to be everywhere, yet incredibly distant.
Every Great Wizard is a valuable asset to the Wizarding World and a guide for the minds of ordinary Wizards.
Every Breakthrough they make is a huge step forward for the Wizarding World.
