Li Yao did not cautiously observe the situation from the entrance of the passage like an Ephemeral Bloom, but instead carefully ventured to the edge of the battlefield, continually seeking the source of the chaos.
As he wandered, Li Yao felt a sudden urge to kill, a desire to tear the fighting players around him apart.
Startled, Li Yao realized that he too was being influenced, and quickly hastened his pace.
Finally, Li Yao saw there was a passage leading up from the left side, but it was carved into the cliffside. Unless one scrutinized carefully, no one would think a passage would be above.
Li Yao sprouted wings and flew up, sure enough, he saw a green-skinned Goblin and a Succubus in the middle of casting spells.
Beneath them was a profound green array, a faint mist ever so lightly dissipating from it.
“It’s indeed a demon’s handiwork, no wonder it’s so strange.” Li Yao examined their attributes and found that they were both level twenty-five, a Magician and a Demon: “It’s too tough to take them on, it’ll just end up being advantageous to others.”
Li Yao flew behind them, summoned his Golden Puppet directly, and then stomped hard on the ground, creating a huge shockwave.
The Goblin and Succubus that were casting spells didn’t expect anyone to be behind them and were thrown off their feet.
Sword Qi Slash with full strength…
Li Yao gathered his strength and aimed two giant Sword Qi flashing with light at those who had been knocked into the air.
Both the Goblin and the Succubus let out sharp cries and were flung away simultaneously.
BOOM…
Both of them were thrown far away, crashing into several players mid-flight.
As the array’s glow faded, both the players and NPCs gradually regained their senses. All their attacks ceased, and they gazed at each other in confusion as they tried to recall what had happened.
“What’re you all dazed about? It’s this Magician and his demon that used a charm array to control you into slaughtering each other.” Seeing them in a daze, Li Yao shouted.
Li Yao’s words completely snapped them back to reality. They remembered what had happened and, seeing their fallen comrades around them, they felt a sense of helpless despair.
Then, they felt an unexpected surge of anger. Looking at the Magician and Succubus struggling to stand, their eyes seemed to ignite with fire.
The five Master Engineers also stopped their actions, all of them nervously checking their HP, then chugged down Life Potions like there was no tomorrow.
Those who controlled Puppets began triggering recovery functions, trying to restore their Battle Puppets to peak condition.
“Damn bastard, daring to plot against us.”
The Masters were also incensed. If they hadn’t been saved by someone, they would have probably perished together. Recalling the fuzzy memory of what had just happened, it all felt like a dream.
“Who launched a sneak attack on me, damn it, I was about to succeed, three puppets, three puppets! Damn.” The Goblin Warlock got up and glared in the direction of the passageway. As he was too short, he couldn’t see Li Yao.
“You’re not from the Rustwater Tycoon of the Dark Camp, are you? So tell me, which tycoon are you from?” Li Yao asked.
“Even if I don’t tell you, what can you do?” The Goblin Warlock sneered.
All the players around him had already scattered. This guy was way too monstrous, and they were still shocked by what had happened. If they died without knowing why, it’d be too unfair.
Li Yao spoke nonchalantly, “There are only five tycoons among the Goblins. Since you’re not from Rustwater, and you rather love to partake in such acts, it narrows down to two. One is the Hot Sands Group, but they’re currently constructing their own base, and their controlled pirates, Blackwater, only have a penchant for raiding routes. So, the party interested in this area, capable of sending men, and is brutally ruthless, there can only be the notorious Venture Capital. Only your kind of Venture Capital trash would love to do such disgraceful acts.”
“You’re asking for death, dare to tell me your name? If I can leave here alive, Venture Capital will certainly make you feel our power.” Even though he was surrounded, the Warlock did not show a hint of nervousness.
“Sadly, you won’t be leaving here alive.” Li Yao smirk-scorned.
“You, who aren’t even tier-two, how would you understand the power of great evil energy, you’re all going to die.”
As the Warlock spoke, his body suddenly ignited, no, a large amount of green flame arose, and his aura became even stronger.
As the ground corroded, he began to rapidly recover. In the blink of an eye, his life force had fully recovered from the injury Li Yao inflicted.
The five Masters who were about to launch their attack suddenly hesitated as they preferred researching to fighting. They weren’t good at it either, hence their level hadn’t even reached tier two despite their age.
“Tsk, you’re acting all tough. Don’t bother, this array has been destroyed by me, you can’t summon anything now.” With this, Li Yao had his Puppet throw down a huge stone disk.
The disk shattered upon hitting the ground, but the many profound Demon Runes visible on it clearly were the mobile array that amplified his power.
“Who are you, have the guts to come out, I must kill you.” The Goblin Warlock was furious. The flames on him began to fade. Now that the array was destroyed, he couldn’t maintain the state of evil energy burning any longer.
“You’re an idiot, not even knowing who this old man is. I really feel sorry for you. You’ve wasted so many years of your life, better off dead, sparing the food.” Li Yao’s words made the Goblin Warlock unable to contain his fury, but he couldn’t see what’s happening above the passage, and could only stomp his feet in anger. With that he spat, “And you all, you almost got killed because of his plots. Yet here you are, watching the show. You’re all okay with this?”
The five Master Engineers of both camps blushed in embarrassment. A Goblin from the Dark Camp said, “We can’t let ourselves be belittled. These Venture Capital trash have to be annihilated. We should unite, the three of us tackle this Warlock, and you two handle the Succubus. All new soldiers, retreat. This isn’t a fight you can participate in.”
“Agreed, let’s proceed.”
Promptly, the five of them reached an agreement. When facing a common enemy, the hatred between two camps would most often be thrown aside, uniting against the enemy. Once the enemy was dealt with, the people from both camps would still fight to the death.
As the five Master Engineers charged forward, the epic battle erupted.
While the players swiftly retreated back to the mouth of the passage, watching the unfolding situation, they already knew that the Warlock was at a level ten levels higher than theirs, so retreating was the wise choice.
“Ha ha ha, you trash, you’ve made me laugh. Is this your fighting strength?” Initially, the Warlock was worried about being surrounded, but after finding out the three Masters lacked combat experience plus his high level, he was totally at ease. He quickly gained the upper hand.
“Friend above, if you don’t help, we’ll be done for.”
The five Masters were getting anxious…
