Wang Sheng did not answer but instead looked at Zhong and slowly said, “The power you wield seems familiar to me; it seems to be something I have encountered before.”
“Encountered?” Zhong’s expression changed slightly. “Influencing the world is quite normal for me.”
“Is that so?” Wang Sheng neither confirmed nor denied, not wishing to argue.
Zhong’s willingness to answer his question already hinted at certain underlying issues.
Since Zhong was unwilling to respond, Wang Sheng did not press on this point, but instead asked, “I’ve always been curious about your purpose in wanting me as a follower.”
Logically speaking, there was no need for Zhong to do this.
Zhong looked deeply at Wang Sheng, not answering directly, “If you follow me, then I can provide you with an answer.”
“What of the Human Race?”
“The fate of the Human Race will not change; extinction is inevitable, it is necessary.”
He was not one to commit massacre, but the fate of the Human Race was already sealed, a matter that he found regrettable.
“If it were not for the Human Race’s own doing, this path would not have been taken. This bitter fruit sown by the Human Race naturally has to be repaid by the Human Race.”
Wang Sheng knew there was no point in continuing this line of questioning.
He was not cold-hearted enough to simply watch the Human Race perish.

“From this point on, any question I ask, you will not answer!”
“An enemy should indeed be treated as such.” Zhong became aloof, abandoning any talk of subjugation.
The battle concluded, and though they appeared to converse amicably, both knew that the next time they met, only one could survive!
They did not fight now only because neither had a way to deal with the other…
