POV Vesuvius:
The arctic wind wailed through the mountains, with snow piling down. The deep fissures left by the recent battle still scarred the terrain. Sunlight reflected on the smooth surface of an ice lake.
Something gleamed deep within, golden and purple light penetrating through the layers of ice.
Suddenly the ice raptured and exploded into billions of small shards that shone under the sun’s rays as they shot up into the sky.
The monstrous dragon rose from its depth, his head rising higher and higher as he towered above the landscape, like a skyscraper in the middle of a desert.
The magma flowed within the armor of ice, crystal, and metal, creating a surreal image that defied the laws of physics. Ash, smoke, and snow filled the air, making it impossible to see further than a few steps.
Everything in his proximity disintegrated, the constantly shifting waves of scorching heat and freezing coldness pulverizing every molecule.

The mana ice is much less resistant and mana-dense than mana crystals, but it can form much faster and is easier to shape.

The dragon remained standing in the middle of the storm of fire and ice, his body towering over the destroyed plains like an unsurpassable fortress.
Vesuvius felt the heat and ice mix within his body, and the new force flowed through his veins.
‘So this is my new power…’
He was sure he would win by a large margin if he fought his old self. The higher stats and new affinities easily increased his options.
The dead dragon was still lying on the ground, the dragon’s eyes looking at it with greed, ‘I will give you a burial worthy of a king; I will turn you into my power during metamorphosis.’
It was material of such a high grade that the kingdoms and empires would be happy to wage wars for it if they knew what was lying here, buried under the almost unbreakable ice.
The space swirled and warped as the corpse vanished into the dragon’s divine kingdom, leaving only a sprawling, frozen cavity behind.

POV ???:
Light steps echoed through a vast and dark cave. The water dripping from the tall ceiling quietly drummed on the stone.
A single woman, her face hidden under the hood, slowly descended the narrow staircase leading into the darkness.
The torch burning in her hand gave her the light she needed to safely descend.
An old and wise voice sounding like a whisper, even though it was loud, made the woman shiver, “Speak mortal… why have you come down here? It had been at least a decade since someone came here.”
She knew she was safe, but her body refused to listen to her reasoning as her fundamental instincts warned her of danger.
The woman lowered herself to her knees, the coldness of the stone perforating into her bones.
“Your Highness, the kingdom is in peril. Malevolent forces of demons are quickly approaching, and the coalition’s army has retreated after sabotage.”
The beast always protected their small and unimportant kingdom, but she knew it wasn’t out of its goodness, ‘They consider us to be their property. And we never argued against it as it gave us reliable protection.’
“Child, you should be more afraid of what will come from the northeast than the demons from the west.”
“What is your highness talking about?”
“A new dragon lord has ascended in the northeast, I felt it in my bones, and only the dragon king of fire, their majesty Satanael, could have overseen it. And now, the demons serving the Satanael have attacked… do you believe this is just a coincidence?”
The woman fell on her knees, pressing her forehead against the wet and cold stone, “T-then, what should we do?!” her voice trembled as she already could imagine a pincer attack from both sides and the alliance’s army getting crushed.
“Nothing, do nothing. This is my territory and property. No other of my kind will come here and break my stuff. All you have to do, princess, is to wait while the world around you burns. Let’s see how their churches can protect them against the calamity that is approaching them.”
