Suddenly, like a striking serpent, a colossal black tentacle lashed out from the boiling river. The impact was fierce and swift, crashing into Ye Xiao’s body with a force that sent him hurtling through the air. He gasped as the blow struck him, his body struggling to regain its equilibrium.
Although it was just an illusion Ye Xiao created, breaking this illusion was not that easy. The illusion actually reacted just like a real person. Anyone could see that the sensation of impact rippled through the illusion (Ye Xiao), causing him to reveal a surprised expression before it turned into a face that seemed to be withstanding an excruciating pain.

The confrontation had shifted from surprise to challenge. As Ye Xiao’s illusion regained his balance, his gaze fixed upon the tentacle before him.
Finally, he saw the true body of the tentacle. It was not anything like Ye Xiao had guessed. The true body of the tentacle was surprisingly half demonic and half oceanic. The upper body was a completely dark body of a demon while the lower body was the body of an octopus. Multiple tentacles could be seen swaying on the surface of the blood river.
“Woosh!”
Ye Xiao was waiting for exactly this moment. The moment this creature revealed its body, the illusion created by him disappeared, causing the creature to reveal a confused expression. However, before it could come back to its senses, Ye Xiao teleported right in front of the creature and a blade pierced through the creature’s heart.
“Crhzzzz!”
The creature screamed with an ear-piercing voice, sending Ye Xiao flying far away in the air. Blood flowed out from Ye Xiao’s ears but he did not care. After balancing in mid-air, Ye Xiao looked at the creature.
The creature’s heart was pierced by Infinity Edge Blade and the creature seemed to be in great pain.
A smile appeared on Ye Xiao’s face and just as he was about to move forward, he noticed something. He was shocked to discover the Infinity Edge Blade absorbing the creature’s blood.
Very few things could enter the Infinity Edge Blade’s eyes and make it devour those things. A few of those things are Abyssal Energy and Sources of Source Universes. This was the first time Ye Xiao was seeing this blade interested in a creature’s blood.
Even though the creature’s heart was pierced by Infinity Edge Blade, it did not die. It could be seen how tough this creature’s vitality is.
And because the creature did not die, it was experiencing a heart-wrenching pain. This pain came from the devouring process of Infinity Edge Blade.
The creature could feel Infinity Edge Blade devouring its blood rapidly, causing his breathing to become weak. Very soon, the creature died because of the loss of blood. He was sucked dry by the Infinity Edge Blade.
After his death, the creature sank down. The Infinity Edge Blade came out of the creature’s body on its own and shone with poisoning green light. This green light seemed to be capable of poisoning anyone.

A metallic sound rang in the air as the Infinity Edge Blade flew in front of Ye Xiao and vibrated rapidly. It was showing its excitement to Ye Xiao. Through his connection, Ye Xiao could feel how excited the Infinity Edge Blade was and that it wants to devour more of this type of creature’s blood.
Ye Xiao held the Infinity Edge Blade in his hand and muttered in a low voice, “Let’s continue our journey. I will let you devour all the creature’s blood who will come to stop me!”
The Infinity Edge Blade vibrated even more intensely to show its excitement. Then it turned into a ray of light and entered Ye Xiao’s left hand, transforming a blade tattoo on the back of his left hand.
With a wide smile on his face, Ye Xiao once again continued his journey, his goal was still to search the Phoenix Bloodpetal. This might be the only thing that could lead him directly to the treasure the Lotus of Chaos wants Ye Xiao to obtain.
As Ye Xiao flew, he once again had the same sensation, as if someone was staring at him from the dark. And the same as before, he could not detect anyone even with his powerful Divine Sense.
In the end, Ye Xiao repeated the same method. He first used his Eyes of Illusion to create an illusion of himself while the real him disappeared from the observing eyes of the shadows. When those half-demonic and half-oceanic figures appeared to kill him, Ye Xiao killed them instead.
Of course, he used the Infinity Edge Blade to kill them, letting the Infinity Edge Blade devour their blood.

After an unknown period of time, Ye Xiao arrived at a very strange place. The entire river of blood was swirling, however, the place Ye Xiao came across now was actually very calm. This made this place very different from the entire river of blood.

In the middle of the swirling river of blood, there was a calm spot that stood out. It was like a quiet island in the midst of chaos. The red waves of the river avoided this place, making it peaceful. The water here was still, with only gentle ripples.
The air felt different here, like an ancient place from a different world. The usual loud sound of the rushing blood was far away, replaced by a strange quietness. It was as if time moved slower in this special area.
