After he ascended to the position of King, the previous King of Chaos gathered all the souls of those Supreme Experts that were on the verge of collapsing and asked them to leave behind their inheritances that includes their combat skills, cultivation techniques, and even experiences of entire lifetime.
Because all the Supreme Experts knew they were going to die, they did not refuse the idea of letting someone inherit and succeeding them.
The previous King of Chaos then spent hundreds of millions of years creating this Mysterious Hall with thousands of ancient runic pillars, every pillar housing an entire lifetime’s worth of refined memories of a Supreme Expert.
The purpose of the Mysterious Hall was simple, it is to find suitable people and let them absorb those memories. Each person could only absorb memories from one pillar.

First of all, the memories from these ancient runic pillars are definitely not the treasure the Lotus of Chaos talked about. Since that is the case, the blurry figure of the previous King of Chaos has yet to tell him his true purpose.

And so, Ye Xiao rejected the offer put forth by the previous King of Chaos, saying, “No, I won’t!”

The blurry figure of the previous King of Chaos had obviously not expected Ye Xiao to reject him. He was surprised when he realized Ye Xiao has done what no one would have chosen to do.
Ye Xiao smiled, speaking, “I said I won’t absorb the memories of a Supreme Expert!”
“Why?” The previous King of Chaos could not understand the reason behind Ye Xiao’s rejection. He wanted to know why Ye Xiao does not want to obtain something that countless people would die for having.
Ye Xiao shook his head and explained, “I don’t want to walk on the path of someone else, I want to create my own path. If I absorb the memories of a Supreme Expert of the past, no matter how refined the memories are, the experiences inside these memories will definitely affect me in many ways, and I might end up following the path walked by that Supreme Expert. I don’t to be affected by anything in the slightest, I don’t want to be influenced by anything or anyone. Then be it if I have to lose an opportunity countless people would fight for, I am willing!”

These three words are easy to understand, but their meaning varies with different content.
Ye Xiao’s speech and finally these three words caused the body of the blurry figure to tremble. It was as if he suddenly remembered something, as if was reminiscent of some event. He no longer spoke for a very long time.

Ye Xiao was stunned at first and then realized that he has not yet introduced his name. With an embarrassed smile, Ye Xiao spoke, “My name is Ling Xiaolong!”
“Ling Xiaolong, a good name!” The blurry figure of the previous King of Chaos muttered and then spoke loudly, “I will remember your name, Ling Xiaolong. You are very good, and the second person to impress me!”
Second person?
Again!
Ye Xiao frowned. Why is it that he is the second person to enter this mysterious hall and also the second person to impress the previous King of Chaos?
But the previous King of Chaos has lived for countless years. How could he not come in contact with a few people who could leave a very good impression on him?
Ye Xiao could not help but ask, “Can you tell me, who that first is? Is it the same person who entered this space before me?”

The previous King of Chaos just said that Queen absorbed the memories of Supreme Experts. He did not say only one Supreme Expert, but Supreme Experts. it means she absorbed the memories of multiple supreme experts!
As if knowing what Ye Xiao was thinking, the previous King of Chaos spoke, “This is what gave me a deep impression of her. Just like you, I told her to absorb memories of any Supreme Expert from one of these pillars. However, she was not satisfied. She asked me if she could absorb memories of multiple experts.”
“Just like you, I told her that absorbing multiple experts’ memories will bring more harm to her than benefit. She might be affected by those memories. However, she told me that nothing like that would happen to her. She said she is unique and nothing in Chaos could affect her mind, body, or soul.”
“I still rejected her request. Nevertheless, as she said, she was unique. She sat in front of one of the pillars and started absorbing memories from that pillar. Even I did not notice when, but extremely thin, thread-like vines came out of her body and wrapped around multiple pillars. It was only when a total of nine pillars crumbled that I noticed what she had done.”
As he spoke, the blurry figure pointed at nine crumbled pillars in one direction.
Ye Xiao looked over and saw there were really nine crumbled pillars. He was just shocked to learn that even the previous King of Chaos was unable to sense when Queen had taken action.
“Then… Did you punish her for not listening to your words? Did something happen to her? Was she affected by those memories or not?”
Ye Xiao asked multiple questions at once.
He could hear the previous King of Chaos sighing. The blurry figure then spoke, “No, she was not affected by those memories in the slightest. As for punishing her, I didn’t. She was special, very special. And she was the first person ever to show guts to go against my words.”
“And as I said, you are the second!”
