Yang Zhen knew that lava was hot, but he never imagined it would be this hot. When he executed a graceful 360-degree mid-air somersault, landing in the lava without a splash, he instantly felt an overwhelming wave of fire surge from all directions, almost instantaneously engulfing him.
The terrifying and rampant fire energy tried to drill into Yang Zhen’s body relentlessly. In no mood to allow this inside him, he quickly shut down his five senses, preventing all the fire energy from entering.
“Damn, Little Bastard, be careful, this Sao Saint might not be able to get out for a while.”
Yang Zhen was yelling instructions to Little Bastard as he dog-paddled, grimacing from the heat. After taking a deep breath, he plunged back into the lava.
This was an overwhelmingly large lava lake. Yang Zhen had no idea how long he’d been swimming. Reaching the limits of his cultivation endurance, he resurfaced with a splash.
Before Yang Zhen had a chance to catch his breath, a thoroughly cold chill hit him straight on, causing his body to shudder.

Ghostly cries and howls echoed around him, sounding like countless fierce ghosts screaming and roaring, sending chills down one’s spine.
Just as Yang Zhen finished speaking, a crisp voice responded, “Humans? You actually found this place!”
On hearing this, Yang Zhen’s face lit up, and he asked, “Who’s speaking? Is that Little Fox’s sister?”
Not far away, the figure of a delicately graceful girl shuddered. She looked at Yang Zhen, surprised and asked, “You know Jue’er? Where is she? What is her current condition?”
Seeing the beauty of the girl, Yang Zhen was stunned, internally praising the exceptional beauty of the girls from the Demonic Race.
Since this woman knew Jue’er’s name, she must be the sister Jue’er had spoken of, Yang Zhen did not want to stay in this eerie place a second longer. Upon hearing the demon girl’s question, he nodded and said, “Yes, it’s you. Little Fox, Jue’er, sent me here to rescue you. Come with me.”
“Go with you?”
The demon girl was taken aback. After sizing up Yang Zhen, she said, “It’s futile, the Soul Tomb has hundreds of sacred restrictions. I don’t know how you got in, but now that you’re here, don’t expect to get out.”
“Hundreds of restrictions?” Yang Zhen was shocked, “Damn, never heard of a tomb having so many restrictions. Anyway, are you coming or not?”
Yang Zhen didn’t have the patience to waste time with this woman. His main purpose coming here was to find the Heart of Heaven and Earth. As for rescuing this demon girl, it was only a side task because he found Jue’ers unconditional devotion pitiful.
If this nameless demon girl was determined to die, Yang Zhen would turn around and leave.
The lives of Little Fox and her sister were irrelevant to Yang Zhen, even the fate of the entire world was of no concern to him. Yang Zhen had always been a selfish person, doing all of this merely because he was sticking to his principles.
The demon girl noticed that Yang Zhen seemed unconcerned about the hundreds of restrictions she mentioned. A hint of surprise flashed across her face, and she retorted with a cold laugh, “The enmity between humans and the demonic race is irreconcilable. My mission here is to trigger a total detonation of the Soul Tomb. When that happens, all you human practitioners who’ve trespassed in Beiqi will die here.”
Yang Zhen twisted his mouth, saying, “You sure do talk a lot. This Sao Saint is here to save you, pitiful little fox, out of kindness. Yet, you’d rather die. I can’t be bothered with your mess, but I must ask, did you consent to detonate the Soul Tomb?”
The expression of the female demon changed slightly, with a hint of struggle flashing across her face.
Yang Zhen immediately understood and snorted, saying, “That’s nonsense. What do the grudges between humans and demons have to do with you – a kid who has never even seen a human?”
Just as the female demon was about to speak, Yang Zhen raised his hand to interrupt her and continued, “It’s preposterous that a delicate little woman like you was to bear the grudges of those scumbags from twenty thousand years ago, don’t you think?”
As Yang Zhen spoke, he took stock of their surroundings, sensing the increasingly dense malicious aura. His expression changed as he fixed his stare on the female demon, asking, “Has the Soul Tomb started to explode?”
“Is it… really like that?” The female demon stared at Yang Zhen in a daze, with a confused and struggling expression on her face.
“What? What did you say?” As Yang Zhen expanded his spiritual awareness, he could sense the oppressive and escalating energy around them. The deafening roars made one’s skin crawl.
“Damn it, just how many people are buried in this Soul Tomb?” Ignoring the female demon, Yang Zhen asked with a puzzled expression, “Even if they died, they should have been annihilated or reincarnated. Why are the souls here so vicious, like they can never find peace in death?”
Yang Zhen stared at the flustered female demon and asked word by word, “What exactly did you do?”
“No, you don’t understand. For the sake of the Beiqi Clan, our ancestors willingly entered the Soul Tomb, hoping to protect the clan in the future. How could you humans understand the sacrifices made by the Beiqi ancestors?”
Yang Zhen burst into laughter, pointing at the restless souls beyond the barrier, saying, “This is absurd. Take a good look at these people. Open those black eyes of yours and tell me, do any of them look willing? Even if they were initially, they’ve become crazed after all these years. With that, Yang Zhen turned and left, laughing sarcastically along the way, “You damn descendants justify their sacrifices for your sake. Damn it, a bunch of ingrates! Using even your ancestors, you scumbags don’t deserve to live in this world.”

The female demon stared blankly at Yang Zhen, seemingly unable to understand why he was so furious. She snapped back to her senses, a flicker of anger in her eyes, “How dare you criticize our Beiqi’s traditions!”
Yang Zhen stopped in his tracks, gazed at her for a moment, and shook his head, “You’re wrong. Only a fool would interfere with your Beiqi Clan’s affairs. This Sao Saint is just feeling that it’s not worth it for your ancestors. Besides, if I’m not mistaken, your Beiqi Clan’s fate is nearing its end, isn’t it?”
Upon hearing his last remark, the female demon’s face changed dramatically. She looked at Yang Zhen with a horrified expression, asking, “How do you know? But no, that’s impossible. It’s the greatest secret of Beiqi Clan, how could you know it?”
Yang Zhen feigned surprise, clicking his tongue in interest, “So, the Sao Saint is right? Damn it, with your actions against nature, it’s no wonder your fate is bad. By the way, which direction is the Heart of Heaven and Earth? Thanks!”
The female demon pointed in a certain direction with a disbelieving expression. Her face changed suddenly as she hurriedly took steps forward and called out, “Sir, Sir, please wait!”
“What is it?” asked Yang Zhen, looking in the direction she pointed towards, which almost matched with his judgment.
The female demon’s eyes welling up with tears, she slowly knelt before Yang Zhen, saying, “Please save the Beiqi Clan!”
