The little fox, which kept running ahead, seemed to be able to move even faster but slowed down when it noticed that Yang Zhen’s pace, accompanied by Han Yan’er, was slightly delayed.
Seeing Yang Zhen catching up again, the little fox unveiled a contemptuous glance. With a whoosh, it sped up again, dashing towards the depths of the mountain like a streak of white lightning.
The base cat started to laugh devilishly, giving a sidelong glance to Yang Zhen. “Kid, you’ve been looked down upon by that little girl.”
“Little girl?”
Yang Zhen paused, unable to correlate the little fox with being called ‘little girl’. However, once he got scoffed at by the little fox, he became enraged. He said to Han Yan’er, “Hang on tight!”
As he spoke, Yang Zhen grabbed onto Hua Youyue, laughed out loud and jeered at the little fox. “Son of a gun. You are the first who dared to look down upon the speed of this Sao Saint. Not a pinch of True Essence within you, what the hell are you playing at?”
No sooner had he said that than the Somersault Cloud under Yang Zhen’s feet vibrated with a hum, radiating dazzling light. The party’s speed increased dramatically to almost twice the speed of the little fox, overtaking it in the blink of an eye.
The little fox looked up, its fur puffed up in fright. It let out a scream and its speed soared again, this time making use of True Essence.
Yang Zhen watched with wide eyes as the little fox’s speed exploded. He turned to Han Yan’er and said, “Is this the one you said, this little thing that moves quite fast?”
Han Yan’er blushed a bit, gave Yang Zhen a slight glare and answered, “It is because of you that she was forced to use True Essence.”
“Damn, is this a lightning mink or something? How could a little fox move this fast?” A baffled expression appeared on Yang Zhen’s face.
The base cat smirked, “Kid, you haven’t seen what faster speeds look like. You’re surprised by this?”
Yang Zhen was taken aback. He had seen faster speeds before. In his previous life, the warriors who moved as fast as lightning, not to mention the Flash on TV who moved so fast they turned into a lightning bolt, were much faster than the little fox.
However, Yang Zhen had never imagined a little fox could run so fast and react so quickly in a mountain forest dotted with towering trees and rough rocks. Without any accidents during such movements, this might be a natural talent of the Demonic Race.
Seeing Yang Zhen’s silence, the base cat let out an evil chuckle, “Kid, now that you know, do you understand why the great powerhouses of the past often liked having someone from the Demonic Race as a mount?”
It seemed Yang Zhen had caught onto something and asked the base cat suspiciously, “Are you saying… damn, is this the natural gift of the Demonic Race?”
“The talents of the Demonic Race aren’t just speed and agility, but a kinship with the world and effortless control. Possessing a strong mount, you can pretty much do whatever you want in this vast world. Some Demonic Race individuals even disdain any prohibition!”

Yang Zhen was shocked and stared blankly at the little fox sprinting ahead. Encouraged by the base cat’s speeches, he even wanted to have a mount to ride for himself.

Hua Youyue and Han Yan’er asked in unison.
Yang Zhen was taken aback, then said seriously, “Of course, it’s undying love—the kind that would dare to part only when the mountains flatten, and the sky and earth merge!”
Hua Youyue gazed at Yang Zhen with a ripple-like smile blooming on her face, seemingly softening the entire world by a notch.
Han Yan’er, however, shot Yang Zhen a glare and turned her head away, her eyes shimmering, lost in her thoughts.
The Scoundrel Cat looked dumbfounded at Yang Zhen. It seemed like Yang Zhen’s suave maneuver had left it in shock. After recovering, it exclaimed, “Wait, lad, how is love relevant here? Isn’t it enough for you to have a lady and a naïve Daoist? You’re not thinking about getting a woman from the Demonic Race, are you?”
Feeling the piercing gazes behind him, Yang Zhen wanted smack himself, and even more so, the Scoundrel Cat. He stared back and said, “You don’t know crap! I, the Sao Saint, am about to talk about the second most substantial relationship…”
Yang Zhen shot a sidelong glance at the two women. Hua Youyue was watching him with a half-smile, her eyes full of interest. Han Yan’er, on the other hand, was staring wide-eyed, her face full of curiosity.
The Scoundrel Cat’s raucous laughter came to an abrupt halt as it asked with a slack-jawed expression, “There’s a second most substantial relationship? Is it related to beast mounts?”
Yang Zhen nodded, releasing a sigh of relief. He thought to himself, you can lie leisurely, but never to women—especially those interested in you. One lie needed a thousand more to cover up. So tiring!
“Definitely!” Yang Zhen replied smugly. Regarding hoodwinking, he has never backed down. Be it a thousand lies or ten thousand, he could utter them fluently!
Yang Zhen cleared his throat and said solemnly, “Scoundrel Cat, I, the Sao Saint, am going to give you a lesson. In this world, undying love, familial love, and friendship are pure and unblemished existences. These are the most beautiful and extravagant things in this world. Other than these, the most sustainable thing is a relationship based on interest. As long as benefits exist, even cats and mice could be continuously tied together!”

“Hurry up! That damn little fox is disappearing!”
The Scoundrel Cat suddenly shrieked, pointing at the little fox that had turned behind a big rock, urging Yang Zhen.

Yang Zhen’s words were cut off halfway as his face changed. He looked peculiarly at the huge airship rumbling in mid-air, circling before it collapsed toward the mountains.
The terrifying power of the massive airship that blocked out the sun fell down, almost as if the sky was collapsing.
Hua Youyue and Han Yan’er were also taken by surprise. Looking at each other, they evidently didn’t know what was happening either.
The Scoundrel Cat opened its mouth wide, looked up, and mumbled in confusion, “This behemoth… who could have brought it down?”
Wang Zhenyu looked stunned. The Ancient Spirit Clan’s airship was definitely not landing normally. Who ever saw an airship prepare to land head-down?
