“Where did you come from?”
‘■I’m not sure. By the time I woke up, I had lost count of the years. It could be thousands, or maybe tens of thousands!” Fu Yonglin turned his head away, not wanting to see Yang Zhen’s satisfied expression.
Yang Zhen looked stunned and asked the Wretched Feline, “Don’t ancient tribes hibernate?”
The Wretched Feline was surprised, “I don’t know!”
The corner of Fu Yonglin’s mouth began to twitch!
Hibernate, hibernate your damn ass! It’s you who should hibernate. Your whole damn family should hibernate!
Of course, this wasn’t something Fu Yonglin dared to say. As Yang Zhen waved his little sword around, Fu was worried that this madman might do something regrettable if he spoke out. So, thinking about this, Fu Yonglin tensed and explained, “Due to drastic changes in the heavens and the earth, the survival of the ancient tribe was threatened. We faced the danger of extermination. Therefore, the Saintess froze our ancestral land with her great divine power. We then fell into a deep sleep. When we woke up, we found ourselves in a completely different world.”
“Great changes in Heaven and Earth?” Yang Zhen’s eyes grew curious as he asked, “Do you mean the Great Calamity?”
“What Great Calamity?” Fu Yonglin was puzzled.
Yang Zhen was even more bewildered and asked irritably, “If not the Great Calamity, why the hell would you hibernate?
Fu Yonglin glared at Yang Zhen angrily, “During the holy war, actions of the Great Saints could tear apart heaven and earth. The collateral damage continued for who knows how many years, causing severe hardship for countless creatures. When my ancient tribe ancestors participated in the holy war and were defeated, we had no choice but to protect ourselves, or we would have been wiped out like other tribes. What would you do if you were in our shoes?”
“The Holy War!” The Wretched Feline’s expression changed drastically as she stared at Fu Yonglin, “Do you mean the Holy War from the ancient era?
“YOU know about the ancient era?” Fu Yonglin was taken aback, and then he shook his head at the Wretched Feline, “Even if you have heard of it, you cannot comprehend how horrific the holy war of the ancient era was.”
The Wretched Feline muttered to herself, “Damn, a holy war. These ancient tribes already have gone into hibernation before the Great Calamity. So, it seems they have not experienced the disaster. They are damn lucky.
After muttering, the Wretched Feline said to Yang Zhen, “Kid, don’t ask about the Great Calamity anymore. They won’t know anything about it. Try asking something else.”
Yang Zhen cursed under his breath, feeling helpless about the ancient tribe’s decision to hibernate so early.
The Holy War!
This war seemed to involve only the Great Saints. These beings could destroy heaven and earth with a simple wave of their hand, yet they disregarded the lives of countless creatures and started this war. What on earth initiated the holy war, and was it directly related to the Great Calamity?
As Yang Zhen asked his questions aloud, his face turned several shades of different colors, and he cursed once more.
The Ancient Era, a catastrophic holy war, that all started because of an unintentional remark by a damn ghost who had by chance came to understand the power of the void. This damn ghost, who called himself the Void Great Saint, in the frozen lands of the northernmost place, realized the power of the void but was not able to use it. He ended up with a frozen box. The tremendous void power he had surged chaotically, spreading like a mighty sea. Even the Great Saints were terrified of him.
The Void Great Saint, although he couldn’t use the void power, he announced that whoever obtained his frozen box would inherit his legacy in the northernmost lands and obtain the power of the void.
After saying this, the Void Great Saint dissolved into nothing!
He dissolved into nothing!
“Was he an idiot?” asked a confused Yang Zhen, looking at Fu Yonglin, “If he couldn’t use it, he couldn’t use it. Why the hell did he dissolve?
Fu Yonglin glanced at Yang Zhen and replied, “Do you think the Void Great Saint wanted to dissolve? The power of the void is a force that all Great Saints covet. It is said that once a Great Saint comprehends the power of the void, they can break the shackles of heaven and earth to ascend to the Great Emperor Realm. The Great Saints who cannot comprehend this power, however, can at most ascend to the Law Following Stage.
Again with the shackles of heaven and earth?
Yang Zhen looked up at the vast sky above him with a sudden realization in his mind. He understood that even powerful Practitioners at the Great Saint Realm or Law Following Stage can’t avoid the fetters of the Heaven and Earth. No one can truly escape the cycle of life and death.
No wonder a single ice box could trigger a sacred war that shocked the ancient and enlightened the present, destroying countless races and even forcing many to choose to freeze themselves, falling into a deep slumber.

Upon hearing the title of the Void Great Saint, Yang Zhen couldn’t stop mulling it over. He was filled with enthusiasm, as though he’d found a new goal in life. “Can you let me go now?” Fu Yonglin asked tentatively, noticing Yang Zhen’s prolonged silence.
“No way!” The two of them, Yang Zhen and the Shameless Cat, declined in unison.
Thinking they’d let him go without spilling everything he knew?
Yang Zhen gave Fu Yonglin a weird look, “Your ‘opening of the heavens,’ what’s the deal with that? Are you really trying to resurrect your holy woman?”
Fu Yonglin’s expression faltered, he shook his head, “The Holy Woman sacrificed herself to preserve the heritage of our Ancient Tribe. She is no more, leaving only a vestige of her soul in the ice statue. Awaking her soul is easier said than done.”
“Then why all this fanfare, all these grand preparations?” Yang Zhen and the Shameless cat exchanged curious glances.
Fu Yonglin’s expression hardened,he stared at Yang Zhen, “This is none of your business, False Yang. I’m at your mercy now. Kill me if you wish, but don’t even think about prying the secrets of my tribe out of me.”
Yang Zhen was taken aback, this guy had some backbone.
Rip.
A crisp sound echoed as Fu Yonglin’s pants were slit open by Yang Zhen’s small knife.
Although Fu Yonglin’s face went pale and the cold wind blew in through the slit, he gritted his teeth and refused to respond, instead looking away as if he was prepared to meet his death.
“For Demacia!”
A strange but familiar voice could be heard, catching Yang Zhen off guard. He quickly realized it was the Ancient Tribe language, just pronounced similarly. “Shameless Cat, what if I smear some honey on his little bird, and attract a swarm of ants? What kind of screams do you think we’ll hear?” “Oh wow, that’s a little cruel, isn’t it? Would he even be able to scream?” The Shameless Cat looked intrigued, “Should we give it a try?”
“Hmm, I think we should give it a try, I, Sao Saint, am a little curious too.” Fu Yonglin’s whole body began shaking. He whipped his head around to glare at Yang Zhen, “Bastard! The people of the Ancient Tribe would rather die than endure such humiliation!”
“That’s not up to you!” Yang Zhen cackled maliciously, his eyes darting around Fu Yonglin’s trousers.
“False Yang!” Fu Yonglin seethed through gritted teeth, his face pale. He took a deep breath, “Fine, I’ll tell you…”
“Esteemed fellow, our Ancient Tribe has never crossed you. Why do you insist on shaming us?”
A spectral voice echoed suddenly from behind Yang Zhen. Fu Yonglin’s face went white as he looked up to see the source of the voice, immediately falling unconscious in fury.
Yang Zhen turned around to see Little Ice from the Ancient Tribe float closer, radiating fairy-like energy..
