Despite being a small town, Dirsa was packed with over 10,000 players prepping for the event. The prime defensive spots in major cities had long been claimed by top guilds.

A colossal shadow loomed over the town as the Crimson Lizard King landed, its massive body dwarfing the nearby buildings.
The crowd froze. Even high-ranking squad leaders looked pale.
Competing against Orgod? They’d rather log out.
“Orgod, that’s straight-up bullying!” A high-level warrior grimaced.
Orson smiled. “Just pretend I’m not here.”

Moments later, a level 20 archer stepped out the door.
“Huff… So that’s the legendary Ancient Phantom Beast?” The archer stared at the Crimson Lizard King, sucking in a sharp breath.
Orson gave him an exasperated look. “Do I need to prove my identity again?”

The archer wasn’t just any random player—he was Mr. Carter, a high-ranking U.S. government official.
And yet, in-game, he looked like a broke NPC. Cheap gear, a generic username—this guy blended in so well that if Orson weren’t expecting him, he might have thought he was just another lowbie.
Orson smirked at his bland username. “Don’t tell me… you got scammed before?”
“Ridiculous! I would never fall for something like that,” Mr. Carter scoffed.
His tone wasn’t exactly confident. Given that he’d been funding the Radiant Shuttle project for a while, he’d probably been conned by veteran thieves more than once.
As for why they weren’t just using direct bank transfers? Simple. Government finances were a bureaucratic nightmare. A single transaction could take anywhere from three months to half a year.

Orson checked the cost and winced.

Celestial Fortress had two movement options:
Direct Teleportation: 10,000 gold per jump. Flight Mode: 1,000 gold per hour, moving at the same speed as the Crimson Lizard King.
Either way, keeping this beast in the air was going to bleed the guild treasury.
