Bang, Bang, Bangâ!!!
The sound of repeated banging disturbed my sleep, interrupting me after just a few hours of slumber.
Someone was at my roomâs door. However, I wanted to sleep more.
So frustrated, I buried my head in the pillow, hoping to muffle the noise and return to sleep.
Thankfully, the commotion stopped after a couple of minutes.
Tring, Tring, Tring~!!!
However, my peace was short-lived as my smart bracelet began to ring incessantly.
Now someone was calling me!
âTsk!â
Annoyed, I stretched out my hand and reached for it on the bedside table.
After pressing its power button and switching it off, I let out a sigh of relief andâ
BANG, BANG, BANGâ!!!
âWhat theâ?!â
Suddenly, I was startled by the sound of banging once again.
Only this time, it wasnât at my room door!
Someone was banging on the window next to my bed from outside!
Who the fuck climbed eight fours just to knock on my window?! Just who was that desperate, and not to mention insane?!
Of course, I knew the answer to my own question, but I still got up from my bed and walked over to the window.
As I raised the window blinds, what I saw was a sight far from comforting.đ«đ¶đłđđ”đđxt.đžđđ¶
Actually, let me correct myself: it was a downright creepy sight.
Staring back at me from outside the window was a blue-haired elf with long, pointy ears.
His face was pressed against the glass, causing condensation to form with each exhale. His nose was scrunched up, and a distorted grin was plastered on his face.
âFound you~â the blue-haired elf spoke in a spooky tone. âCome on now and open the window~ I wonât hurt you~!â
Suiiâ!
Without any delay, I took out my new bow from the dimensional storage of my smart bracelet and knocked an arrow into it.
Drawing back the bowstring, I aimed it at the creep on my room window.
âHUH?! Wait! No, no, no! Lucas, itâs me!!â the elf shouted as his eyes widened in shock. âIâm Kent! Donât you recognize your best bro?!â
âNope,â I replied in a chilling tone. âNow, Iâll kill you for self-defense.â
âHuh?! What self-defense?! I already said I wonât hurt you!â
âThatâs what every pedophile says to his victim.â
âWh-What?! What do you take me forâ wait, actually, now that youâve mentioned it, youâre right. It is a creepy line.â
âSee?â
âMaybe thatâs why that girl ran away today when I said this to her.â
ââŠâ
âAnyway,â Kent scratched the window. âOpen up. I will fall any moment now.â
Clickâ
Rolling my eyes, I stashed the bow and arrow back into my smart braceletâs pocket space and opened the window.
âHow did you even climb this high?â I asked while giving him a hand and pulling him inside.
âDidnât I tell you,â Kent said, puffing up his chest proudly. âMy father taught me the ways of the boy scout.â
âHmm? I thought scouting only included outdoor activities like camping, aquatics, woodcraft, hiking, backpacking, and a few sports.â
âYeah, but my father also taught me rock climbing along with all that. If youâre a little flexible like me, then you can basically climb any building.â
âDamn,â I was genuinely impressed for a moment. âAnyway, Iâm sure you didnât disturb my sleep to brag about your scouting skills.â
âYou were sleeping?â Kent furrowed his brows and exclaimed. âLame! Itâs only 8:44 PM, and the night is still young! Come on, letâs go to a club or something!â
âKent,â I sighed. âI had a long day. I just want to close my eyes andââ
Interrupting me, Kent asked, âSpeaking of which, where were you the whole day? I didnât see you anywhere during shopping or sightseeing. You didnât even come out for dinner. A hot chick at the reception informed us that you left in the morning and only came back in the afternoon.â
Taken aback by his concern, I was about to make up some lie before he continued, not giving me a window to speak.
âHaa!â Kent gasped dramatically. âDonât tell me; the mafias are after you! I knew it! Weâre too rich for this city now! Everyone will come after our money!â
ââŠ.Kent, weâre in a city called Silver City. There are thousands of more wealthy people than us,â I shook my head. âAnyway, I had a personal reason. Now Iâm tired, so will you please let me sleep.â
âI see,â Kent touched his chin. âIt really mustâve been a long day. But no, I canât let you sleep.â
ââŠ.And just why is that?â I sighed again, failing to get rid of him.
âBecause today we will party like there is no tomorrow!â Kent waved his hand in the air as if parting the ocean. âDress up and look pretty, Lucas! Why, you ask? Because we will experience the nightlife in the City Of Elves, thatâs why!â
I massaged the bridge of my nose as I heard him spouting nonsense. He was standing right in front of the open window.
Should I push him?
Ha! If I push him now, it will be a perfect murder! I can get rid of him!
Heâll fall and die on the impact, and everyone will think he just slipped while climbing up my window!
âLucas, why are you grinning like a maniac?â Kent arched an eyebrow before quickly returning to talking nonsense.
âAnyway,â he said. âBefore you deny my suggestion againââ
âAlready denied. Iâm not going.â
âRemember this; you gave me your word to accompany me to clubs and bars whenever Iâll ask you to!â
Tsk, I did give him my word. Should I just punch him until he goes back to his room and leaves me alone? It worked last time.
âAnd before you even think of punching me again,â Kent raised his index finger. âLet me tell you that I wonât yield tonight.â
âOh, yeah?â I scoffed. âFine. Challenge acceptedââ
Before I could even clench my fists, Kent spoke up again while quickly crossing his arms over his face. âAnd also, everyone else is waiting for us downstairs!!â
âHuh?â I frowned. âEveryone who?â
