Selfish Act
The majority of people were selfish by nature!
Only at this moment did Xiaoyun realize that if she hadn’t eaten together with this senior together at the same dining table, no matter how familiar she was with her, she most probably would have reported her straight away for the sake of everyone’s safety.
Even if she didn’t report it openly, she would silently hint it to the officer. So why would she act like what she was doing now, even wanting to prevent the senior from surrendering?
There was data that indicated the majority of those with the virus were all unwilling to be isolated. Many people knew that they had the virus, but they would still think of ways to go back home, or take revenge on society, or simply see their loved ones. There were many reasons for this. Many people felt that they were lucky enough to take chances, and some just wanted everyone to die. Outsiders might not understand, but those with the virus all knew that the nearer the time of death, the more one’s selfishness would be displayed without restraint!
Xiaoyun was one of those mortals who felt she was lucky enough to take chances!
As a university student that had received high-level education, she naturally knew the consequences if the virus wasn’t contained. In serious cases, millions of people would die. Yet, she still felt like taking chances. Just like what the bald vice headmaster had said, that monkey might not really be infected. “Xiaoyun…I…” The red-haired senior no longer had the appearance of an elder sister. She spoke with fear, “I…really didn’t do it intentionally…”
Xiaoyun’s eyes narrowed; there was no trace of sympathy in them. With the possibility of her getting infected from this senior, she didn’t have the mood to sympathize with the other party. But now, in order to prevent the officer from seeing something was wrong, she could only console her quietly, “Don’t worry senior, you have also heard what the bald headmaster has said. Xiaoyun continued to expressionlessly feed Xinya chili. Only when Xinya’s face turned bright red did she stop. She nodded. “Mn, your complexion is much more normal now…”
Xinya: “Boohoo, how is this normal? My lips are already swollen…”
Xiaoyun didn’t care about her. She stood up and raised her hand. “Headmaster, us here have finished dining…”
The headmaster and the officer were both startled slightly. They felt as though either this lass didn’t really understand the current situation, or there was something wrong with her mentally. Otherwise, how could she still smile so radiantly?
Yet, they didn’t know the smile on Xiaoyun’s face was simply something to hide the incomparable anxiousness in her heart.
She wanted to hurry back to her dorm. Now, despite this despairing situation, she knew in her heart that it wasn’t the end for her yet. As long as she could return to that game, that game might be able to save her!!!
