Hearing this, James remembered Su Mu’s status as an “insider” and, without a moment of hesitation, pushed off the ground and rushed into the Red Queen’s server room.
Just as Danilova, Alice, Kaplan, and others looked at Su Mu with astonished expressions, the front and back doors of the laser corridor suddenly clanged shut, completely sealing off the corridor.
The next second, the computer screen in front of Kaplan flickered wildly, emitting a piercing “beep” sound, and a message popped up: “Weapon system activating.”
Looking at the tightly closed doors and the information on the computer screen, Danilova and the other two, who had almost walked into the laser corridor, turned pale, realizing that Su Mu had saved their lives.
They thanked Su Mu in unison.
Su Mu waved his hand, but his heart was pounding.

If not for Su Mu’s warning, the consequences would have been unimaginable.

For a moment, only the sound of keyboard clicks remained at the corridor entrance.
Su Mu seized this opportunity, looked at Danilova, and asked directly, “Can I borrow a pistol for self-defense?”
Danilova exchanged glances with her two teammates beside her, a hint of hesitation flashing in their eyes.
But then they considered that if Su Mu truly had malicious intent, he wouldn’t have warned them to avoid the danger earlier.
Without further hesitation, she unholstered the pistol from her waist and handed it to Su Mu.
Su Mu excitedly took the gun, the cold metallic sensation spreading from his palm.
He then shamelessly “borrowed” two fully loaded pistol magazines from the other two.
The two generously handed them to Su Mu.

Holding the pistol, he humbly asked Danilova how to use it, including its safety features and how to reload.

Watching Danilova and the others take out their tools, preparing to forcibly restart and shut down the Red Queen, Su Mu did not stop them.
After all, if the Red Queen wasn’t shut down, the zombies wouldn’t come out, and his mission wouldn’t be completed.
“Get out, you cannot enter,” the Red Queen’s virtual projection appeared from the rotating camera on the server room ceiling.

Aided by the faint light, Kaplan removed the Red Queen’s motherboard and placed it in his backpack.
“Done.”
“Return the way we came, rendezvous with Jedi and Rain, and leave here as soon as possible,” James commanded, leading the way with his gun raised.
Danilova and the others followed closely.
Alice and Spence, unaware of the danger, continued to follow at the very back, presumably believing that with people leading the way, the rear was safe.
Su Mu didn’t think so.
He gripped his loaded pistol and quickly moved to the middle of the team.
Although there were emergency lights, the surroundings were very dim.
There was no telling where a zombie might suddenly appear.
Currently, the middle position was the safest.
As the group reached halfway, they heard a burst of gunfire.
“Quick, Jedi and Rain are in danger!” James shouted and started running.
Danilova, Kaplan, and the others followed close behind.
Su Mu also started running; he knew that the gunshots they had just heard meant Jedi and Rain, who had stayed in the B restaurant, had encountered zombies.
The initial shots probably meant they had only spotted one.
If not for the novice mission to kill zombies, he really didn’t want to go to that restaurant, which was about to be surrounded by zombies and used to cultivate Lickers.
Two minutes later, the group arrived at the restaurant.
James looked at the injured Rain and asked cautiously, “Why did you shoot just now?”
“There was a survivor.”
“You shot her dead?” James’s eyes widened, his face filled with disbelief.
“She went crazy, she bit me,” Rain responded angrily, bandaging her bitten hand.
