It seemed like, aside from Mommy and Wu La, this sister was the first person to care about her.
“Okay,” Wu Wa nodded happily at the thought. “I’ll go right away.”
She set off immediately, running off like a gust of wind, and Bai Zhi really couldn’t call her back.
Soon guests arrived, and Bai Zhi got busy. In less than two hours, everything had already sold out.
Bai Zhi looked at the sun, guessing it was about noon, yet Wu Wa hadn’t come back.

Bai Zhi kneaded the noodles, letting them rest and now she just needed to cut them. She had also bought some bowls, eggs, and tomatoes.
She mixed the eggs and starch into the minced meat, stirring them evenly, and then used a spoon to form small balls of meat and put them straight into the frying pan to fry.
Meanwhile, she chopped the tomatoes, cracked the eggs, added oil, poured in the eggs, stir-fried the tomatoes until even, and then added garlic and water.
Once the water boiled, she added the cut noodles and meatballs. After they were cooked, she sprinkled chopped green onions on top.
Each strand of noodle fully absorbed the flavor from the tomato and egg soup. It was chewy, with a hint of sour and sweet.
The meatballs, just fried, burst with flavor, chubby and particularly delicious.
Bai Dan ate quickly, one bite after another. Xingxing’s cooking was absolutely the best.
Old Man Tie, drawn by the scent, wandered over and saw Bai Dan perspiring while eating.
“Wow, enjoying your food, where did you buy something so fragrant?”
Seeing Old Man Tie’s reaction, Bai Dan couldn’t help but chuckle. Old Man Tie clearly wanted to eat; he was just being roundabout.
“Xingxing, serve a bowl for Grandpa Tie. Look at all the drool he’s about to spill.”
Bai Zhi had made a big pot, so upon hearing this, she immediately ladled out a bowl.
“Grandpa Tie, try it.”
Old Man Tie, not shy at all, took it and started eating. He had thought it smelled great, but didn’t expect it to taste even better.
“Your granddaughter’s skills are incredible; she could open a noodle stall,” Old Man Tie said matter-of-factly, declaring the taste to be the best on the street.
Bai Dan emptied the bowl of soup with one gulp and immediately shook his head.
“No way, my Xingxing is going to college in the future. She can’t sell noodles forever.”
That potato and all, he had plans to take over when the time came. He could do it himself.
Then he would save all the money for Xingxing; his Xingxing was going to be a little princess.
“It’s true, the young Miss needs to go to school.”
Hearing this, Old Man Tie felt the same way and put aside the topic of presents, continuing to eat his noodles, which were really delicious.
“Sister.”
Just then, a glutinous voice rang out. Bai Zhi looked over to see Wu Wa standing next to a little boy, both dressed in their ethnic clothes – probably her friend.
“Come here quick, why are you all sweaty?”
Bai Zhi hurriedly waved Wu Wa over and used a newly-bought cloth to wash her face.

“Why did you run for so long? Is this your friend?”
Bai Zhi looked at the little boy beside her. His face was so dark it was hard to tell if it was dirty or if that was just his skin color.
In the next moment, she understood he was dirty because he suddenly stepped forward, pulling Wu Wa behind him, and watched Bai Zhi warily, protecting Wu La tightly.
As if Bai Zhi were the kind of bad person who lured children with candied haws.
“Wu La, what’s the matter? I want to talk to Sister. Sister, I’m hungry.”
Wu Wa’s gaze shifted to the noodles nearby, and even Wu La’s stomach betrayed him with a growl.
Bai Zhi laughed softly, finding this little boy known as Wu La quite interesting.
Bai Zhi took out two bowls, one large and one small; Wu La got the full large bowl, while Wu Wa got the small one, which might be about the size of an eight-inch bowl Bai Zhi used.
Wu Wa and Wu La sat down, Wu Wa looking somewhat disgruntled at her own little bowl – it was too small, hardly enough to fill the gaps between her teeth.
Bai Zhi was unaware, but Wu La knew and tried to give his large bowl to Wu Wa, only to be stopped by Bai Zhi.
“Wu Wa, you just ate a lot of pan-fried dumplings and potatoes; you can’t eat so much more. Eat up quickly, and if it’s not enough, I’ll serve you more.”
What if they overate again?
Wu Wa patted her somewhat round belly and resignedly took the small bowl, eating slowly, her little face a picture of sorrow.
Seeing that Wu Wa didn’t protest, Wu La believed it must be alright; if not, Wu Wa would surely have said something. After one bite, he found it incredibly tasty and began to eat voraciously, finishing the noodles in no time.
Bai Zhi served him another bowl, and he continued to eat.
Bai Dan, watching from the side, saw the unconscious smile on Xingxing’s lips and felt slightly dazed; how long had it been since Xingxing had laughed so happily?
After eating the noodles, Wu La wanted to pay. Bai Zhi waved her bracelet in question.
“I’m Wu Wa’s sister, so naturally, I can’t take your money. Now off you go, and come find me again next time. This is for you to take home.”
Bai Zhi handed over the packed items to Wu Wa along with some meatballs, frowning at the sight of their empty hands.
“This won’t do; I’ll give you a basket to carry things in.”
