Another Ghost was hidden in the crown of an old tree with peeling bark atop Low Hill, used to monitor the surroundings.
He kept one with him, so that if the situation turned dire, he could continue to burrow deeper underground using the Five Ghosts Bag.
“Safe for now,” Chen Mu breathed a sigh of relief.
Five meters beneath the courtyard there was already a cellar, stocked with Yellow Bud Rice and some homemade cured meat.
Taking stock of the living supplies in the Five Ghosts Bag, Chen Mu felt reassured.
“With these things, staying for three to five months won’t be a problem.”

“Could it be that our place is about to descend into chaos?” Chen Mu had a thought and suddenly remembered Zhongshan Path.
Previously at Red Sleeve Square, he overheard conversations suggesting that Zhongshan Path was overrun by an Exotic Beast, leading to the dissolution of several Lower Courtyards.
“With Director Song being so formidable, it’s impossible for the Lower Courtyard to become chaotic,” Old Hao immediately countered.
Chen Mu remembered the overwhelming swarm from before and couldn’t help but nod in agreement.
“Don’t go outside unnecessarily these days,” Old Hao cautioned.
“The restrictions are said to be repaired, and the Inspection Courtyard is patrolling and cleaning up the Exotic Beasts.”
“But with the Lower Courtyard being so large, there are bound to be some that slip through the net. Coming across one would mean big trouble.”
Chen Mu nodded in agreement without a word.
