He also stated that during this lesson, Clarence could serve as a temporary teaching assistant, helping to instruct the other first-year students. The reward for being a temporary teaching assistant was exemption from homework.
The fact that Flitwick awarded Clarence points and made him a temporary teaching assistant to help instruct other students before even officially starting the lecture naturally caused an uproar among the new students.
Conversely, they didn't seem to care much about the homework, or perhaps they were too surprised by the temporary teaching assistant role and thus overlooked the homework issue.
Of course, although this matter caused an uproar, as it was their first official class after enrollment, even if the students found it incredible, they dared not directly contradict the Professor.

Seeing that most of the young Wizards had taken notes, he called Clarence to the podium, telling him to go and correct or answer questions for anyone who made a mistake or had an issue.
Indeed, having Clarence as a temporary teaching assistant to help with instruction truly made things much easier for Flitwick, and he didn't have to worry about him teaching incorrectly or making mistakes.
Because Flitwick had previously discovered that even he, regarding this magic, especially the foundational aspects, might not have as comprehensive a grasp as Clarence. Therefore, he naturally didn't need to worry about him teaching incorrectly or encountering problems he couldn't handle.
Clarence, while excited about gaining many simplification points, also felt somewhat annoyed by some classmates' deliberate mistakes.
So why would those first-year students deliberately make mistakes?

Watching Madam Pomfrey cast a spell with her wand at the nosebleeding classmate, Clarence curiously asked, "Madam Pomfrey, is the spell you used Healing magic?"
