Isabella was entertaining someone she had no business entertaining because this woman was no other than Nakamura.
“This place is a lot smaller than I thought it would be,” Nakamura said and Isabella’s excitement evaporated because this man had dealings with Kyle so why was he here?
She wondered if he came here looking for him but there was no way someone as important as him would make that kind of mistake to begin with.
“Mr. Nakamura, what can I help you with?” Isabella asked and this surprised Nakamura.
“You know who I am?” Nakamura asked, to which Isabella nodded. Kyle then briefed her about everything regarding his business with this man.
Nakamura eyed her from head to toe, Isabella looked like a powerful woman and Nakamura thought about what would make a powerful-looking woman submit to him.
However, Yuki soon came into view, this was the first time they were meeting and with how enticing Isabella looked.
It was a shame she wasn’t the one that came to meet him but why was he here was the big question.
“Of course I do, Mr. Nakamura. I make it my business to know who works with us,” Isabella responded sternly with a smile on her face.
Nakamura didn’t give her a verbal response either way because Yuki took over the conversation on his behalf.
“I’m Yuki, the assistant of Mr. Nakamura and I will be speaking in his stead,” Yuki said and Isabelle couldn’t object.
She wondered if she should call Kyle but this was something that she could handle.
“That is fine by me. Please, state your business,” Isabella responded, looking right at her.
“Mr. Nakamura wishes to get a list of your most prominent talents,” Yuki said but this was something that could be done over the phone.
There was no reason for them to come all the way here considering how busy he was running Distort.
Isabella had a brief look of confusion plastered across her face before it was replaced with a smile.
“A list?” Isabella asked because she understood there had to be a reason they came to her and not ask Kyle.
“That is correct. As you know, Mr. Nakamura has an ongoing contract with this Agency and Mr. Nakamura would like to see the list of talents under your Agency as screening for his next movie has already begun,” Yuki responded.
It was weird that Nakamura was staring at her or would it be more accurate to say he was checking her out?
Isabella was an elegant woman with class that made the every day woman look like maids.
She had that mature beauty that was described in books.
He didn’t say a word and it felt a tad bit strange because there was no reason for him to be here if he wasn’t going to say anything.
“I will have to compile it and filter them out,” Isabella said right away but this wasn’t a good enough answer.
“Mr Nakamura would like to do that himself, he wants everything,” Yuki wasn’t bulging, she was standing her ground.
“I’m sorry but I have to follow protocol,” Isabella stood her ground as well but Nakamura sighed loudly as this was taking too long.
“Do you plan to merge?” Nakamura finally spoke but revealed he knew about the proposed merger which shouldn’t be possible.
Isabella tried to maintain her composure but this surprised her.
“How do you know about that?” Isabella asked but Nakamura had ears and eyes everywhere.
This was how he was able to make the most out of every situation he had been in.
Be it leveraging his position or manipulating it to his advantage.
“I know things I shouldn’t, Miss Isabella,” Nakamura said before gesturing for Yuki to leave them both alone.
Yuki didn’t hesitate and left the area without thinking twice, she was like an android that operated based on her master’s command.
“Now that we are alone, I just wanted to confirm this merger would not compromise our existing agreement,” Nakamura said and Isabella realized the reason why he came here in person was to judge how she reacted.
Certain conversations were best had in person so you could get a direct feel of the other person’s energy.
Nakamura was a seasoned businessman and liked to have these types of interactions face-to-face because people could lie a lot easier over the phone but it was a different case when it was in person.
He thought that Isabella was the original owner of this place before meeting Kyle after the meeting but she was just the face.
However, there was no way that this woman here didn’t hold any power but Nakamura wasn’t looking to intimidate her.
“The merger? I’m sorry but I cannot discuss that,” Isabella responded.
“I didn’t ask about the merger, I asked about how it would affect our deal?” Nakamura said, his voice was as soft as silk.
“Unfortunately, I cannot give you a definite response until we make a decision,” Isabella stood her ground.
“She’s not intimidated?” Nakamura thought to himself with a satisfied smile.
“That is fine but don’t you think it is strange that this came right around the time this Agency was about to make a name for itself?” Nakamura began his true motive and planted this into her head.
“The strong will always devour the weak before they become a threat,” Nakamura said out of the blue like an ancient monk bestowing knowledge onto his disciple.
This might look like a blessing but Nakamura knew more than anyone that it wasn’t, they were simply eliminating competition because Distort involvement with them had been revealed.
And at the pace at which JPD rose in the rankings, there was no doubt it was only a matter of time before it grew into something bigger than them.
However, this was the conclusion of their little meeting, it took a little over twenty minutes and this confirmed Isabella’s suspicion.
This was going to be the most important decision she would have to make.
