Back in the dormitory, the other recruits in class five, except for Wang Ye, had grim expressions on their faces. However, Ye Sanshi paid them no attention. Instead, he turned to Wang Ye and called out his name.

“Your performance today was exceptional. Therefore, I have decided to appoint you as the acting vice-class monitor of class five!” Ye Sanshi announced.

Once Ye Sanshi had left, Wan Baojiang was the first to approach Wang Ye and say, “Deputy Class Monitor Wang, I admire you!” He then looked at the others as if daring anyone to disagree with him.
Wang Ye chuckled at Wan Baojiang’s enthusiasm. “We’re all brothers,” he said, addressing the other members of Class Five who had stayed behind. “I’ve said before that I want to be the vice-class monitor. And even though I was surprised to become the acting vice-class monitor today, I still won’t give up on my goal. However, I encourage anyone who wants to compete to do so openly.”
As he spoke, Wang Ye extended his hand in a gesture of camaraderie.
