When Sifu’s business grows, this workshop would probably expand even more. Even rice noodles and liangpi would depend on this workshop.
After arriving in town, Jiang Yue and Xue Yan followed Xue Sifu to the backyard of the Shen Medicinal Hall to get something, and gave some liangpi for Shen Yuxuan’s family.
Then, he went to his corner to set up his stall.
The sunshade was set up again.
When people came to eat the rice noodles, Xue Sifu would introduce a new dish to them — liangpi. The general idea was that it was a kind of noodle, also made with flour, but it was very chewy and smooth. Some people were interested in it, so they didn’t eat the rice noodles and changed to a bowl of liangpi.
Xue Sifu quickly got to work
The people who ate the liangpi took a bite and praised it for being delicious. It was different from the cold rice noodles. They even praised Xue Sifu and the others for thinking of such an amazing dish.
The weather was becoming hotter. Although it wasn’t to the point of unbearable heat, Xue Sifu was afraid that the two precious children would not be able to take the heat. Thus, he took the opportunity to go to the stall selling herbal tea in front and planned to buy two bowls of herbal tea for the two precious children to drink.
When he left, Jiang Yue and Xue Yan were in charge of the stall.
The four tables in the stall were all occupied, but they were not full. They were either eating cold rice noodles or liangpi.
An uncle walked over, it was obvious that he had been to this stall before. Jiang Yue asked, “Welcome, the weather is hot now. We only sell cold rice noodles and liangpi.”
“Liangpi? What’s a liangpi?” the middle-aged man had an expression as if he had never heard of it before.
“This is liangpi.” Jiang Yue slightly pushed the plate of liangpi in front of him. This plate of liangpi had been made as an example to show customers..
After all, it was the first time they were selling liangpi today. no one knew about it, so they had to make a sample. In the future, when everyone knows about it, there would be no need to put out a sample.
“What is this made of? It looks pretty good.” The uncle asked.
Jiang Yue gave a simple explanation.
The uncle said, “Okay, then I’ll have a bowl of liangpi today. I may not be full from this bowl. If it’s delicious, I’ll order another bowl. For now, make one bowl for me first. It’s six coins a bowl, right?”
“Yes.”
“Alright then. Where’s your brother?” The uncle looked around. “I don’t want to wait on such a hot day for my meal. I’ll leave as soon as I’m done eating.”
“Sifu went to buy herbal tea. We can make it for you.” Jiang Yue said.
Xue Yan quietly took a piece of liangpi and began to cut it into wide strips. Then, he put it in the big bowl with liangpi.
Jiang Yue added the ingredients into the big bowl and she stirred it with chopsticks.
The two children cooperated very well.
“I’ve seen a lot of children help their family, but you guys are the most likable out of them all,” the uncle said in surprise.
Xue Yan and Jiang Yue thanked him politely, “Thank you.”
“You’re too polite.” He came over to take a look because the two children had been shouting at the fork. After that, he became a regular customer of this stall.
The uncle sat and waited for his meal.
It didn’t take long for Jiang Yue to make it. After a while, she was done. Then, she poured the mixed liangpi out of the big bowl and onto the plate. She held the plate with two small hands and gave it to the uncle.
The uncle took it and placed it on the table. He took a pair of chopsticks from the bamboo tube on the table and took a big gulp. “Not bad, not bad at all. It’s really refreshing. Please make another bowl for me. i have a big appetite and I’m not full from this.”
