“Why did you stop talking?”
“Pardon the Great I. The Great I was lost in thoughts,” Nyxtharion #2 said.
He would have never apologized to anyone, but he was starting to treat Neo as someone who was equal to him.
“Try thinking of sending your sword to your empty World.”
Neo, although confused, followed the instructions.
He tried to think of sending Obitus into his empty World.
The sword suddenly disappeared from his hand, and Neo felt like a large space open inside ‘him’.
The space was an entirely different dimension.
The gateway to access it was Neo’s World Energy.
“This… I can feel this space has always been there. I was just not aware of it.”
The space was colorless.
It was neither black, nor white.
Neo felt like he was staring at a blank canvas.
In the center, he saw a gigantic orb. It was made of 108 elements, and it was the size of a solar system.
However, the orb (World Core) was small when compared to the entire space, like a water molecule in front of an ocean.
Obitus floated next to the World Core.
As soon as Neo accessed the space within himself, the World Energy from his body began to flood into the space.
“Now, that you can access your World, we should start creating a new type of energy. That will also show you why Heavenbreakers are unique.”
“Should I call Obitus back?”
“No, let it remain in your World—” Nyxtharion #2 suddenly stopped.
His brows creased as if he was thinking about something, and suddenly he said, “Cosmos. Let’s call the space inside you Cosmos instead of a World. It is more accurate this way.”
“Okay?”
Neo, not knowing the difference, nodded.
He did know what cosmos meant. It was universe. He, however, could not understand why the difference mattered in his case.
Nyxtharion and Neo waited until the Cosmos inside Neo was filled with World Energy.
It roughly took an hour, which said a lot as Neo was capable of filling his energy reserves within a minute, and his energy reserves were comparable to Stage 3 Gods.
“Channel your Death Sword within Obitus.”
Neo did as he was told.
A dark aura appeared within Obitus.
The sword hummed with power.
“Strictly speaking, the World Energy within your sword right now can be said to be in a transitional phase.
“It is your World Energy and it is becoming an Energy that powers Death Sword.
“Use Void on this energy, and see what happens. Try corrupting it.”
Neo did as he was told.
Purple bubbles with a star within them started to appear around Obitus.
He focused, trying to corrupt the energy only, and nothing else.
Unable to fine control Void, he corrupted Obitus and the sword started to mutate.
The sword was a portion of him. While Obitus tried to stay silent, he could feel the pain tearing through her.
Just when Neo was about to stop using Void, he felt something churn within him.
His Monarch of Death bloodline roared.
It devoured the unwanted mutations that were budding on Obitus’ spirit – which was a part of Neo’s soul.
Neo was surprised, as well as confused.
He told what had happened to Nyxtharion #2.
The dragon rubbed his chin.
“Your bloodline must be from an incredibly high rank God. Normal bloodlines are physical. They exist within your body, and once you reincarnate, you will lose those bloodlines.
“Bloodlines from high ranking Gods, those beyond Stage 6, are ontological in nature. They flow through your body and soul.
“Even if you reincarnate, you will keep your bloodline as that bloodline flows through your soul and not just body.”
“That is what is happening with my bloodline?”
“Yes,” the dragon nodded. “You might have realized, but when you devour something, you gain everything from them, even their physical traits.
“Yet, you have not become a deformed entity. It’s because your bloodline devours all harmful and negative mutations.
“Since your bloodline is ontological in nature, it can devour the negative mutations from soul too, and not just from body.”
Neo nodded.
Obitus was a part of him, thus his bloodline protected the Sword’s spirit and physical form.
He sensed a sigh of relief within him from a familiar presence.
‘Oh, so you were worried. Judging by how tough you were acting while you were being mutated, I thought my dear Obitus likes pain instead of being afraid of it.
‘It made me worry she had become a masochist.’ Neo teased.
‘It’s you who is masochist!’ the sword retorted back.
Neo smiled. He was relieved to see Obitus was back to her normal demeanor, and he felt a huge sense of guilty for putting her at risk.
“Can I use another Spell to create a new type of Energy? I would rather not endanger Obitus.”
“No.” ‘No!’
The reply of Nyxtharion and Obitus came at once.
“I told you to use Death Sword, as it is clearly the Spell you are most familiar with. If you use something else, it would be a lot more difficult to create a new type of energy.”
‘He is right! Also, haven’t you been taking many risks so far? Why are you worried now that it puts me in danger?’
‘Use me, Neo. I’m here for your convenience. I’m your sword. Your weapon. I’m not a decoration you need to protect. Use me to grow stronger. And if I break in the process, then just discard me—’
“Never say that.” Neo snapped.
He had lost Elizabeth already, he didn’t think he would remain sane if he lost anyone else who was close to his heart.
“Who are you talking to?” the dragon questioned.
“My sword’s spirit,” Neo answered.
The dragon nodded, and urged Neo to retry.
Neo used Obitus again. The Sword Spirit was adamant about being the subject of Void.
She started saying that she would never talk to him if he cheated on her and had his first child (creating a new type of energy) with any other Spell than the Spell that belonged to her, in other words, Death Sword.
Neo wanted to cry.
It was good that she was in a mood to joke.
But did she have to put it like that?
Shaking his head, Neo began his training in earnest.
He repeatedly tried to use Void to mutate the energy while it was being used to power Death Sword.
He failed repeatedly.
Sometimes his soul deformed, sometimes his body. Obitus was not spared either.
Thankfully, his bloodline would devour every negative mutation.
When a mutation appeared that was not harmful, but Neo didn’t want it – like a third hand – he would kill himself before the mutation became permanent, then revive himself.
Neo finally became aware why he had not mutated even after fighting Velkaria for thousands of years.
His bloodline protected him.
The dragon watched him silently.
‘He is already getting a hang of it. It shouldn’t take him long to create a new type of energy.’
‘As I thought, this boy is incredible.’
The way Neo controlled the energy was exceptional. Even more exceptional was his willpower.
Corruption of Void was painful. Nyxtharion knew that painfully well.
