Bone-chilling fear crept down the dragons’ spine when Neo raised his sword overhead.
Red lightning slithered around the blade.
The amount of Death was titanic.
He had to be stopped.
“Kill him!”
The dragons roared. Four of them dived into the purple flames, no longer caring about their lives. The other eight spewed condensed purple flames.

A black, lightless arc shot out. It cut through the wing of the nearest dragon.
Neo immediately followed behind.
He used mimicked Gravity to create a zone with fifty times the gravity. The dragons on the ground groaned and slowed visibly, finding it hard to move.
Just then, Neo swung overhead and clashed against the dragon diving from above.
The dragon was surprised, finding it absurd that Neo could fight back on equal footing.
“What have you done?!” the dragon roared. “What sort of malevolent Darkness is that?!”
They could sense the Adamant Aegis Spell protecting him, and he had used Nyxtharion Roar. Both were abilities of Nyxtharion.
Dangerous.
The abomination before them was dangerous.
Something like him needed to be eliminated at all costs.
Dozens of roars erupted. They synchronized and, for the first time, stunned Neo.
The dragons used the opportunity. Attacks flew from all sides.
Their attacks suddenly froze.
The purple flames halted, and the dragons could not move.

Beelzebub stood on Neo’s shoulder, devouring Time. His strength depended on Neo’s strength and Neo’s mastery of Time.
And Beelzebub gained a huge boost when he devoured Nyxtharion #456.
The dragons slowly started to move.
Beelzebub strained himself, but it was clear he could not hold out much longer.
Neo, under the effect of madness and constant mental attacks, exhaled audibly.
His muscles flexed as he used Hydraulic Motion Technique, along with Pseudo Gap, to achieve the maximum speed possible.
Red lightning gathered around his blade. The lightning bolts condensed to the point they looked black.

His figure blurred, and he instantly appeared on the other side of the cave. Time resumed. A beat later, the dragons’ heads fell from their shoulders, sliced off with a clean cut.
Blood spurted from their headless necks, and they fell to the ground.
All thirteen Nyxtharion were dead.
Neo stumbled. He clutched his head.
Even in pain, he moved. He could sense more Nyxtharion coming toward him, and one of them was far stronger than any other Nyxtharion he had faced.
‘It must be a Nyxtharion born from a large piece of the original one.’
Neo had to grow stronger quickly.
True Darkness surged out from him. It devoured the purple flames like an endless dark night.
Just when the True Darkness was about to devour the corpses, Neo’s mind and body instinctively froze.
Anymore, and it was suicidal.
He would not be able to sustain the madness.
His sense of self-preservation warned him against devouring more corpses. He needed to wait until his madness stabilized.
“Don’t… tell… me what to… do.”
Neo was short on time. The strong Nyxtharion was coming at him with a swift pace.
He clenched his jaw with enough strength to make him bleed.
‘I will… grow… stronger.’
‘Even if… I… have to die… for it…’

He directed a huge portion of the energy he gained from Nyxtharion #456 into Happiness, his Concept of Life.
His mind relaxed slightly under the effect of Happiness, and a sense of calmness washed over him.
Invigorated, he devoured the corpses.
His link with the hivemind of Nyxtharion was strengthened. The amount of mental attacks bombarding his consciousness increased severalfold.
He started to lose his sense of self.
Notifications similar to before appeared before his gaze.
The masteries of the techniques increased as the techniques overlapped, and his stats skyrocketed.
His body began to morph.

Neo’s thoughts became incoherent.
Without him realizing, his nails dug into his skin and drew blood. His eyes became bloodshot, and the blood vessels in his head began to burst.
Warnings came from Death.
Space suddenly wrapped around Neo like a giant hand holding him, and he was flung away. His body smashed through wall after wall.
Shockwaves erupted as he hit an invisible barrier.
His body felt as if it was chained by Space.

Neo’s thoughts were cut short when the punch smashed him into the invisible barrier. The hand pulled back and punched again.
And again.
And again.
Neo tried to move away, but the Space Lock kept him in place.
The dragon stopped only when Neo no longer showed any sign of breathing.
The only inkling of ‘life’ within him was the red lightning flickering around his figure.
A powerful roar erupted.

Neo’s eardrums burst, and blood leaked from his eyes under the effect of the roar. It was on a different scale than the Stage 1 Roar that the other Nyxtharion used.
His mind was barely able to make out the words of the dragon.

The walls of the caves had collapsed, revealing an absolute behemoth of a black dragon. Its size made the previous Nyxtharion look as small as insects.
The Nyxtharion’s aura was regal yet menacing.
It had horns on its head, and its eyes stared at Neo as if looking at an insignificant ant—someone not even worth as food, as the other smaller Nyxtharion regarded him.
“For what reason did you harm #456, #478, #359, #511, #537, #467, #39—”
“Are you fucking going to call out each of their names?” Neo interrupted. His aura burned with cold anger as he spoke, “They tried to eat me, so I did the same to them.”
