Hilda shouted too early! Nurina was smiling!

Nurina! Did you just cast 'Silence' on me?
Hilda and Nurina... both of you were trying to make me win after one minute... so that... I get to marry... her?
I kept looking at them both!
Hilda felt awkward and looked away and Nurina covered most of her face with her hands.
This was... this was not cool.

The victory was just like this close... I could almost taste it.

Those two planned it all along.

I kept staring at them and everyone in the hall followed my line of sight.
Nurina is normally thick skinned so she withstood it but Hilda was already on the verge of crying.
Everyone knew that something has happened by now. Even Nurina started to get frustrated.
I looked around and saw Alina.
Sigh! She put on such a good fight but those two just had to ruin it, didn't they?
For some reason, she didn't stand up yet.
I walked to her and crouched down.
"Hahahaha!" I laughed! I couldn't help but laugh!
This is so hilarious! Truly hilarious!

Fine! Thank you for the good fight.
I stood up and spoke.
"When I charged at her just a while ago! We crashed a bit too hard which caused her to pass out... Alina Moonblade lost due losing consciousness before the end of the first minute! ... My Win!"

Hehe! That sure felt good!
The crowd cheered! Hilda closed her eyes and Nurina hanged down her head.

Nurina, Hilda, Alina, Jullanar, and I were all invited by Savos Aren the Arch-Mage quarters.
"Cousin, you really did it that time, didn't you?" Savos was looking at Nurina with cold eyes.
"I don't think you have any rig..." Nurina was lashing back.
"Please continue, Arch-Mage!" I interrupted.
"Huhu! What a polite student! Nurina, even for a master you should stay partial in these kinds of duels between your personal disciples. I think it shouldn't be me who say that to you."
"Savos! This is my busin..." Nurina was lashing back again.
"Please continue, Arch-Mage!" I interrupted.
"Huhu! What a polite student! I won't be saying much after this but Nurina, please be careful. Only a few people noticed what you have done so I can contain the rumors this time." Savos Aren spoke in his quiet tone.
"I don't care who noti..." Nurina was lashing.
"Please continue, Arch-Mage!" I interrupted.
"Huhu! What a polite student! Anyway, we were lucky to avoid a problem this time. I can explain it that you noticed that student Alina passed out and prevented student Jon from causing harm to the defenseless student Alina."
"I don't care what yo..." Nurina yelled.

Hilda was pale and looked so pitiful! I could see an aura of gloom around her.

"I am sorry, Jon. Mother only tried to do what she thought was best." Hilda was completely down now.
"Mother, huh? This can be called your second day and you are doing a fantastic job already."

Unlike Nurina, Hilda crumbles easily.

We left the Arch-Mage's quarters after we stayed there chatting for almost an hour. Savos Aren was just sitting there not doing anything.
Hilda and Nurina went for a drink, Jullanar and Alina went together on something they kept whispering to each other about, Nefertiti was in a playful mood so she joined the girls.
I was left alone so I decided to go bother Wulfur for a while.
When I arrived at Wulfur's place, I found that Trudvar was there with him.
"What are you two up to?" I asked.
Trudvar told me it is about the Old Life and the New Life festivals.
Oh! so today is the day.
The Old Life Festival is the end of the year celebration when people go visit the graves of their dead loved ones, it is on the 31st of Evening Star.
But tomorrow is the more important day.
Tomorrow is the 'New Life Festival'. The 1st of Morning Star and the day of free drinks for everyone.
"So, what is the plan?" I asked.
"We are preparing some stalls and events. We also included the game that you told us about."
Fufufu! The children shooting range, the magical show, and the snowman competition. Tomorrow will be on a busy day.
Trudvar gave me a note.

"Did you make sure to attract the Students from the College to celebrate in town?"

I took out a journal from my pocket and showed it to Wulfur. It is a black journal with a lion insignia on it. Those who know it will recognize it as the Firemane banner!
