Davis's fingers gently rested against Yotan's temple, his expression calm but focused as a strand of his soul force entered her soul sea. His iridescent energy shimmered like threads of black-white stardust as it traversed, searching for the remnant of the sacrificial curse.
He quickly reached her soul essence as though he knew where it was.
In it, a black-white rune, etched like a star with jagged lines, pulsed strangely. The curse exuded a sacred yet terrifying pressure, confusing Davis. It was not like the curses he encountered. He wondered if this could even be called a curse with how different its aura felt.
Still, it coiled around a portion of her soul, not actively harming her but clearly altering the future of her cultivation path, although he knew it would be of no concern.
Davis closed his eyes.
His soul force surged from his index finger.

The iridescent threads of his soul coalesced into a radiant seal-like formation above Yotan's head, forming a black-white wheel inside her. It flickered and spun, absorbing the curse from the soul essence and eradicating it without encountering much difficulty- no.
Suddenly, the curse reacted violently.
The black-white mark shrieked in her soul sea, tendrils lashing out toward the wheel.
Davis sensed a strong remnant Will from the curse. He presumed it was that Heavenly Ghost Crow.
He nearly got the idea to revive him and torture him but decided to let go. To sacrifice his own life, it could be said he paid with it already.
Davis's brow twitched as he decided to let him go, but he didn't falter as he decided to collect interest from his clansmen. With a surge of his reincarnation energy and creating a basic yet sold spirit seal using spirit formation, the curse's rage was immediately suppressed.
The seal formed by his iridescent soul force landed gently on the curse. To ensure not the slightest bit of curse escaped once again, Davis's seal engulfed the curse, binding it in a serene sphere of containment.
Then- he squeezed his hand ever so slightly.

The black-white curse shattered with a high-pitched hum, fragments dissolving into nothing.
"Ahh…!"
Yotan gasped, her body trembling as a surge of pain flashed through her, only for it to be immediately soothed by Davis's life energy. A soothing warmth flooded her soul sea, weaving and patching up the torn segments with intense care.
Her breath quickened, bosoms rising and falling, before her body slumped slightly into Davis's arms, exhausted but visibly relieved. She didn't think it would only take him three minutes to clear a curse at the level of the layer limit.
Of course, it was weakened but still, its remnant Will wouldn't be any easier to clear. However, Davis got rid of it so easily, making her feel prideful in his stead.

Davis held Yotan in his arms. He hid his smile, taking advantage of this moment to hug her all he wanted. Within a few seconds, Yotan straightened herself and took a step back, bowing.
"Many thanks, Legion Master."
"Hmm."
Davis nodded. He turned around and looked into the distance. The vast space was incredibly beautiful, countless specks of dust that were stars shining throughout the third layer.

Yotan trembled ever so lightly.
She raised her head and looked at his back with eyes that held back an immense amount of gratitude and debt. She couldn't even speak, even though she wanted to, but the sense of responsibility in her and the debt she owed him weighed like a mountain range upon her.
Her eyes quickly turned moist, and she felt scared.
She knew Davis would be scared shitless when his wives were harmed, yet he didn't show the same reaction to her. Of course, he looked worried but it wasn't as as she expected.
Moreover, she knew Davis would take the time to flirt with her, but he didn't bother to do so.
All these minor things that she wanted to avoid now so that she could earn achievements and prove herself to him suddenly felt so distant. She felt like she could never obtain his attention again as she recalled Yilla's words.
[After all, which man would continue wanting a disobedient woman?] Yilla's complacent voice resounded in her head like a spell.

She let out a despondent voice, causing Davis to blink.
He was about to turn when suddenly he felt two hands hug him from behind, causing his eyes to go wide, especially when he felt those pair of sumptuous bosoms of hers press against him rather firmly, making him understand that she was holding him fiercely.

Davis voiced out, not understanding what was going on.
Did Yotan finally have a taste of death and finally understand what's important? He didn't know. She didn't look like she was scared. He didn't check her emotions, but he did see her soul, and it didn't pulsate in a wavelength that would equate to fear.
He had urged her to leave, knowing she wouldn't want to be here but there in order to help the Davis Family and gain more achievements. He thought she would be stubborn, but most importantly, he had a meeting with Venerable Knight Lussandra, so he didn't bother to tease her.
He imagined he would only be disappointed if he were to make a move and get delayed again. He figured it was better to talk romance when it wasn't wartime. Otherwise, he imagined that he might jeopardize the relationship in haste.
However, little did he know that Yotan became fearful of losing him, finally taking a step forward.
"Please don't hate me… don't leave me… I will listen to you…" Her voice softly echoed.
