With a single swift motion, its claws descended upon Alex, ready to end his life for good.

At that moment, Alex saw his life flash before his eyes.
The claws of the [Hatred Demon] were inches away from ending him, and he knew this was it.
He had saved a few Destiny Points from using [Threads of Fate], but they were instantly drained by the [Hatred Demon]’s relentless attacks.

To Alex, it almost seemed like the [Hatred Demon] had been toying with him this whole time.
It had underestimated him from the beginning, not fully using its arsenal to kill him instantly.
But as the fight dragged on, and as Alex managed to strike its heart once, the creature’s attitude began to change.
It no longer saw Alex as a mere nuisance, it saw him as a threat.
The fact that Alex had come back from the future, knowing about the descent of the gods, had alarmed the [Hatred Demon].
It realized that the human before it was both a treasure trove of information and a massive danger.
The best solution, it decided, was to kill Alex, steal his memories, and take the [Heart of Calamity] from his head.
With two hearts and the knowledge of the future, it would be unstoppable.
It could eliminate every threat in this universal descent and become the ruler of all 25 worlds.
But Alex wasn’t about to let that happen.
He couldn’t give up, not now, not when he was so close.
Everything was resting on his shoulders, and he refused to let the [Hatred Demon] win.
“FUCK… YOU!” Alex shouted, his voice filled with defiance as he swung his [Bleeding Dragon Claws] at the [Hatred Demon], ready to clash with everything he had.
“How futile,” the demon whispered, shaking its head as if disappointed.
SWASH!
Their claws met in a brutal clash, sparks flying as the two forces collided.
But even then, the [Hatred Demon] was holding back.
It only used one of its four arms, yet it still managed to push Alex back with ease.
“Do you not see?” the [Hatred Demon] said, its voice calm and mocking as it brought its other arms closer to Alex’s neck and body, “You could never win to begin with. You should have come when you were sure to defeat me.”
But the [Hatred Demon] wasn’t taking any chances.
With a swift motion, it used one of its free arms to slash at Alex’s other arm, cutting it off cleanly.
Blood sprayed from the wound, but Alex didn’t back away.
He didn’t even flinch.
The pain was nothing compared to the determination burning inside him.
“Goodbye,” the [Hatred Demon] said.
It wasn’t gonna hold back anymore, this was its full power, and it was clear that Alex was no match for it.

The [Hatred Demon] swung its free arms, aiming to finish Alex off once and for all.
But Alex wasn’t about to go down without a fight.

He moved his body, narrowly avoiding the attack.
His eyes were bloodshot, his body trembling with adrenaline and sheer willpower.
He wasn’t afraid anymore.
He was angry, angry at the [Hatred Demon], angry at the world, angry at himself for not being strong enough.
But that anger fueled him.

Alex kept dodging, his movements sharp and precise as he avoided the [Hatred Demon]’s relentless attacks.
Each dodge earned him a small amount of Destiny Points, his reserves slowly climbing.

He needed a plan.
He needed to outsmart the [Hatred Demon].
And the best way to do that was to let it think it had won, to appear so weak and pathetic that it wouldn’t expect what came next.
Alex knew he only had one more life to make this work.
He couldn’t afford to waste it.
“Bye bye,” the [Hatred Demon] concluded.
It grabbed Alex’s claws, stopping him from dodging, and used its three other arms to attack from above, left, and right, trapping him completely.
SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!
Alex’s body was torn apart, blood spraying everywhere as he died once more.
But this time, the [Hatred Demon] didn’t back away.
It stayed in the same position, waiting for Alex to revive so it could kill him again.
It wasn’t playing anymore.
It could sense that the end was near, and if this was truly Alex’s last life, then it had won.
But Alex wasn’t done yet.
Thanks to his last-minute dodges, he had unlocked one final life.
His eyes locked onto the [Hatred Demon]’s figure, taking in its crimson aura and overwhelming hatred.
For even a microsecond, Alex needed to take the [Hatred Demon] by surprise and finish the job.
And so, right as the five-second window for revival was about to close, he began his final plan.
Destiny Shift!
[Undoing Death…]
There was no fancy undoing this time.
Alex simply revived himself, his body reforming as golden and crimson aura swirled around him.
The [Hatred Demon] watched, its expression cold and calculating.
“I knew there was one more,” it whispered, as if confirming what it thought was true, “I sensed it, it means that evading my attacks grants you the ability to revive yourself…”
The [Hatred Demon] was figuring out how Alex’s abilities worked more and more.
It probably knew everything by now.
“You have no secrets anymore, I guess this battle ended with everyone trying their best.”
It raised three of its four arms again, while the fourth held Alex by the neck, waiting for his body to fully reform before killing him again.
Or at least, it thought that it needed to wait, right?
Well, that was what Alex was counting on.
What if the [Hatred Demon] was wrong? What if Alex could move before his body was fully revived?
Fwish!
While his left arm was still transformed into the [Bleeding Dragon Claws], and his neck held by the [Hatred Demon]’s claws, Alex took advantage of the brief moment before his revival was complete.
He swung his claws at the arm holding him, striking with all his might.
The attack caught the [Hatred Demon] off guard.
The wound was deep, and the creature instinctively released its grip, pulling its arm back.
Alex, still in the process of reviving, used the opportunity to kick the [Hatred Demon] away with his leg.
Bam! Fwish!
The impact was powerful, sending the [Hatred Demon] sliding backward and crashing into a nearby building.
The structure crumbled under the force, but Alex didn’t care.
He was back on his feet, his body still reforming as golden and crimson energy swirled around him.
He was missing his right arm, it had been more than five seconds since he lost it, meaning he couldn’t undo the damage, but even then, he stood tall, his eyes locked on the [Hatred Demon] with pure hatred.
“…”
He didn’t say anything.
He didn’t need to.
This was it.
The final plan.
The moment he had been waiting for.
The [Hatred Demon] was about to learn what it meant to face someone who refused to give up…
