Lin chose not to respond. Shaking her head, she stubbornly tried to prop up her aching sore body. However, it was all for naught, as her feet turned weak and made her butt land on the stone floor with a bang.
All this while, Lin had developed a dependence on the strong regenerative abilities of her body. Only at this moment did an unbelievable truth slowly uncover itself to her.
‘My regenerative ability doesn’t work anymore…’

Lin was instantly at a loss.

Upon hearing that, Lin quickly inspected her body’s condition and was momentarily stupefied.

After heaving a sigh, Lin seemed to have realized something. Narrowing her eyes, she began to size Ji Bai up.

“How do you know so much about this?”
“Because I’ve studied vampires comprehensively.” Ji Bai stood up, no longer intending to humor her questions any further. Sweeping a gaze around, he realized he had really poor visibility, as the surroundings were covered in pitch-black darkness — It was certainly impossible for them to drop down from such heights without sustaining any debilitating injuries or dying. Hence, Ji Bai had turned into his Radiant form and hugged Lin who had fallen unconscious midway during their descent.
“Have you dissected vampires before?”
“You can think of it that way.”
“…-Hey, I have two pieces of news right now. A good one and a bad one. Which one do you want to hear first?” In the middle of the silence, Ji Bai suddenly started a conservation.
“…”
“Since you’re silent, let me begin with the good news.” Ji Bai deeply inhaled. “The good news is, I had briefly scouted the area and found that there’s a path ahead of us. These ruins seem to be more complicated than they appear, so there’s a chance we could find the way out there.”
Ji Bai then looked up into the skies, at the hole above him that had shrunken down to the size of his thumb.
“As for the bad news… It seems the griffin from before is on our trail.”
