One of Haitin’s sect elders couldn’t resist questioning Aksai’s plan.
“Brat, your entire argument rests on the assumption that the Sun Ocean Lord actually cares about his daughter. His actions so far don’t support that,” the elder said skeptically.
Aksai shook his head, his confidence unwavering.
“That doesn’t matter. Even if he doesn’t particularly care about Siya’s well-being, he should care about his reputation as a Core Formation Lord.
How could he allow his daughter to be killed in the Wild Devil Lands, even if he’s the one who sent her here in the first place?
A Core Formation Lord’s pride is enormous. Even if he sends his daughter into enemy territory, he’d still expect the enemy to give him face and not harm her. That’s the arrogance that comes with his status.
Plus, a daughter’s marriage is a just cause. No other Core Formation Lords would question his presence in the Wild Devil Lands if it was for her wedding. It’s a legitimate reason to enter.”
Aksai’s eyes shifted toward Haitin as he continued.
“Besides, turning the Sun Ocean Lord into a silent ally for the demonic faction isn’t the only goal here. You mentioned the Green Glory Lord is also itching to enter the Wild Devil Lands. What do you think will happen if both the Sun Ocean Lord and the Green Glory Lord enter the Wild Devil Lands based on their previous arrangements?”
Haitin pondered the question for a moment before realization struck. His eyes met Aksai’s.
“If the Sun Ocean Lord and Green Glory Lord enter the Wild Devil Lands together, they’d naturally form an alliance. They’d suppress the demonic faction and monopolize the heaven-defying opportunity for themselves. They would use their respective sects’ manpower to pilfer everything in their sight.
Of course, there’s a chance that the Sun Ocean Lord and Green Glory Lord’s forces would eventually fight against each other in order to get sole custody of the opportunity.
However, the demonic faction would have been thoroughly suppressed by the time these two elephants decide to fight against each other.”
Haitin said grimly, glancing at the sect elders nearby. For the first time, Haitin felt like he was lagging behind in terms of schemes when faced against the Core Formation Lords. He needed more information regarding the Core Formation Lords’ current situation.
With his simple gaze, a few of the Foundation Building sect elders left the region, heading straight towards different locations. Haitin didn’t need to verbally give out the orders. His eyes were enough to convey his orders.
“Exactly,” Aksai replied.
“I’m not sure what kind of arrangements you have, but I’m guessing dealing with one Core Formation Lord is something the demonic faction could handle. At the very least, you wouldn’t be at a complete disadvantage. Even if you can’t win against a Lord, you wouldn’t necessarily lose either.
However, facing two Core Formation powerhouses at the same time? That’s a much greater threat. You’d be in a dire situation, unable to hold your ground.
It’s far better to get the Sun Ocean Lord on your side by offering him some benefits. If the opportunity is so big, why try to keep it all for yourself and risk indigestion? Too much greed is not a good thing.
So… get the Sun Ocean Lord on your side by giving him what he wanted all along. Doing so would give you an ally and prevent an alliance between two powerful enemies that could threaten your interests in the future.
Of course, the Green Glory Lord would realize something’s off about a marriage alliance that seems to appear out of nowhere. But he wouldn’t act rashly, not if he risks tipping off the other Core Formation Lords.
Plus, by the time he or any other Lord realizes, it would be too late.
Things should be fine for a few months, even years, if you play your cards right. Even if the other Core Formation Lords are tipped off in the distant future, the demonic faction wouldn’t suffer a joint suppression from other Lords.
You can then use the Sun Ocean Lord as a scapegoat by saying that it was him who took all the benefits. The other Lords would have to leave the demonic faction alone and focus their attention on the Sun Ocean Lord.
The Sun Ocean Lord is clever enough to figure out these possibilities too. He’ll understand the advantages and disadvantages of this arrangement.
I’m sure he’ll still choose to go along with the plan based on his nature and the kind of benefits he is bound to get. He might even show more enthusiasm than we’d expect,” Aksai explained.
Siya’s nostrils flared as she struggled against her restraints, her body trembling with rage at the unfolding scheme. ‘These bastards… They are going on and on about my marriage without allowing me to say even a single word. Who do they think they are?’ she screamed in her heart.
Aksai allowed Haitin a moment to process the proposal before continuing.
“Of course, this marriage alliance hinges on the Sun Ocean Lord’s willingness to collaborate with your sect. While your sect is powerful within the demonic faction, it remains a demonic sect.
Meanwhile, the Sun Ocean Lord’s sect belongs to the righteous faction. I’m not fully versed in the dynamics between the two. Although they’re not actively at war, I’m unsure if they’re ready to shake hands.”
Aksai said, sighing slightly. Despite his carefully thought-out plan, he acknowledged that his understanding of the upper echelons of these factions was limited.
Haitin stepped forward, placing a hand on Aksai’s shoulder in a friendly, almost brotherly gesture. His confidence was palpable.
“Don’t worry, Brother Aksai,” Haitin said with a chuckle.
“Your plan is entirely feasible. Yes, the demonic and righteous factions aren’t on the best of terms, but this wouldn’t be the first time such arrangements have been made. Sure, Haan Di’s neutral faction won’t be able to play matchmaker, but it’s not like the demonic and righteous factions have never worked together to face a common enemy.”
Aksai raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. “Oh?” he asked, genuinely surprised.
He wasn’t aware of any previous instances where the demonic and righteous forces had joined forces.
