Spoorate, Jean, and the others were curious and didn’t want to stay in World-in-Hand, so they followed him to the underground passage.
But the girls immediately regretted their decision as soon as they saw their surroundings.
It was dark, damp, and the air was thick with the stench of decay.
Spoorate frowned deeply, clearly disgusted. She covered her nose and mouth, groaning, “What kind of place is this?”
Jean echoed, “I should have just stayed in World-in-Hand.”
John smiled and said, “Want to go back?”
“No, I want to help you,” Spoorate quickly rejected him.
She had only just gained this strength, and she hadn’t had a chance to show it off to John. The environment here was harsh, but it was still bearable.
Jean glanced at her and said, “Then I’ll stay too.”
The two girls had just met, but their personalities clicked right away.
John didn’t say anything more. He turned to Medusa and asked, “Can we leave?”

They were on a small platform where several passages converged, all leading in different directions.

The Underground City was a unique area within Dark City. The five great lords had captured many powerful individuals for experiments, absorbing the power of laws from them.
These individuals were drained of all their worth, tortured beyond recognition, neither human nor ghost, and then thrown into the underground passages to fend for themselves. However, to their surprise, these individuals not only miraculously survived, but also became tainted by the power of laws of darkness. Their strength even increased.
They gathered together and formed an organization within the underground passages, the Underground City.
These people repeatedly harassed Dark City, causing considerable damage.
Senren and his group had once sent people to eliminate them, but those individuals were like madmen. When pushed to the brink, they would self-destruct, leading to significant losses
for Dark City.
Now, Dark City lay in ruins, a shattered wasteland, much of it due to those madmen.
Senren frowned deeply, his expression grim, and coldly said, “No matter what, I must capture that John and Sini. Continue the pursuit.”
“Yes, my lord,” the leader of the Bloodthirsty Demons answered. Although reluctant, he dared not defy Senren’s command.
He sniffed the air, locking onto John and his group’s location, then led his army forward, continuing the pursuit.

John and the others were unaware of their current situation. Under Medusa’s lead, they wandered aimlessly through the sewers.
“Strange, there’s not a single Dark Rat around here,” Cand-Dragon remarked, noticing something odd, furrowing his brow.
The group stopped and began looking around, puzzled.
Gaka spoke up, asking, “Medusa, can you still lead us out of here?”
Medusa looked helpless, feeling aggrieved. “I can’t help it. That guy has no idea how far he ran. I can’t sense the traces I left behind, so it’s all just luck now.”
Immortal King’s face darkened, and he coldly remarked, “Are you blaming the master now?”
He had never been fond of Medusa.
“Enough,” John interrupted the two who were bickering. He looked upward and said, “If worse comes to worst, we can find an upward passage. Senren must have lost our trail by
now.”
The others nodded in agreement.
Medusa continued to lead the group, but this time with a clear purpose, searching for an
upward passage.
As they delved deeper, the surroundings became increasingly dark and cold.
The group started to sense that something was wrong.
Medusa stopped once again and said, “Have you noticed? This passage leads further
underground.”
Sini frowned, nodding as she said, “It seems like this really does lead further underground,
and the evil power here is growing stronger.”
Tracy, confused, asked, “Does that mean there’s life down here too?”
Gaka spoke up, “Could we have already entered the Baron’s territory?”
In all of Dark City, only the Bloodthirsty Beasts and Corrupted Demon-Humans under the
Baron’s command lived in the underground passages.
Medusa snapped her fingers, and a ball of flame shot out from her palm, illuminating
everything around them.
She looked at the deep passage ahead, frowning as she said, “This doesn’t seem to be the
Baron’s territory.”
She had been to the Baron’s underground passage before, and the aura here was completely
different.
Moreover, after traveling for so long, they hadn’t found any passage leading upwards.
“We should turn back the way we came. I’ve left traces of my aura along this path,” she said.
This passage seemed to lead further down into the depths, and she had a growing sense of
unease.
The others didn’t notice the subtle tension and nodded in agreement.
Medusa led the way, and they began to retrace their steps.
Whoosh…
Suddenly, a gust of wind howled, and the air was filled with the foul stench of decay, mixed
with the low growls of monsters.
The group’s expressions changed slightly.
“It’s the Bloodthirsty Demons and Corrupted Demon-Humans. They’ve caught up with us,” Medusa exclaimed in surprise, instinctively retreating behind John and Gaka.
In the dimly lit passage, a large number of Bloodthirsty Demons and Corrupted Demon-
Humans appeared.
“These guys just don’t know when to give up,” John said, not particularly worried, but rather
a bit excited.
This passage only had one direction and wasn’t very wide, barely allowing four people to walk
side by side.
In such an environment, he could easily block the attacks from the Bloodthirsty Demons and Corrupted Demon-Humans by himself.
However, this also meant they couldn’t go back and would have to continue deeper into the
passage.
“Leave this to me. You all keep exploring,” he said, reminding the others as he stayed behind

A large group of Bloodthirsty Demons and Corrupted Demon-Humans continued to charge
forward, undeterred by the losses.
John fought while retreating, easily blocking the attacks from these monsters. “Darkness Heaven Power of Laws! How is this possible?” Behind them, Senren felt the power
of Darkness Heaven Law that John was unleashing, his face filled with disbelief.
He couldn’t understand it. Although John had the Body of Dark Elements, mastering the
Darkness Heaven Law was nearly impossible.
Only those from the Celestial Vault organization, who used evil means to comprehend the
Darkness Heaven Law, could wield such power. No one else could possibly master it.
“Who exactly is this human?” His gaze flickered, his expression darkening as he coldly commanded, “Black magicians, go ahead and attack with Black Demon Bombs. No matter what, we cannot let them escape into the Underground City.”
“Yes!” A large group of Black magicians passed over the Bloodthirsty Beasts and Corrupted
Demon-Humans, moving to the front.
Soon after, countless Black Demon Bombs shot through the air, hurling toward John and the
others.
Boom! Boom!
The explosions echoed, and the terrifying Darkness Power of Laws surged.
This dark power wasn’t enough to threaten John, but the others couldn’t withstand it, and
they quickly found themselves struggling.
The most dangerous part, however, was the underground passage itself. The ground shook
violently, and large boulders began falling, the structure teetering on the edge of collapse.
The group paid no attention to the danger around them, quickly moving through the dark, narrow passage, trying to shake off the enemies chasing them.
At that moment, lights flickered in the distance, accompanied by waves of energy
fluctuations.
Medusa, at the front, slowed down, quickly warning, “There are enemies ahead!”
